[Bug 225610] [NEW] window enlarges when new chat tab is opened

2008-05-02 Thread end-user
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

8.04 Ubuntu Hardy
Pidgin 2.4.1

When using Pidgin, I set the chat window to the minimal vertical size
allowable, and keep it under my browser window. When I open a new chat
tab, say for another chat room, I would like the window to stay the same
size I have set it at so that it fits perfectly and compactly under my
browser.

Instead, adding a new chat tab enlarges the whole chat window
(vertically) with it, instead of encompassing the added tab in the
existing size of the window. This makes the windows overlap and I have
to readjust them.

Thank you!

[Bug 35545] Re: Doesn't display animated GIFs

2008-04-27 Thread end-user
I'm curious why this is considered a wishlist and not a bug. Isn't the
expected behaviour for viewing a gif to see the animation?

Anyway, I think as the default image viewer it should be able to fully
view a gif, even more so now in Hardy, since gThumb has been removed.

[Bug 35545] Re: Doesn't display animated GIFs

2008-04-27 Thread end-user
you should not focus on the bug settings so much, what difference does it
make it being a wishlist or low priority issue?
the ubuntu team is small and doesn't have the ressources to work on that
 issue,
you can either consider it as something which should be implemented and is
 not yet,
in which case it's a wishlist, or as a bug in a feature already available,
 either case will not
change the fact that the team as other priority to work on right now

I meant no offence by asking - in this case curious really just meant
curious. Some of us who are new to the process might not realize what is
apparent now - that the priority is a very minor distinction.

Respectfully, I would only add that to someone not familiar with the
inner workings of something like this, the difference can seem quite
substantial. Low priority suggests that there is in fact a problem
with something not working as it should/was intended to, but is not a
pressing issue, whereas wishlist implies that it is a feature request,
and therefore debatable.

I know this has got to be an ultra busy time and I certainly don't
expect anyone to drop anything to work on this - I know it is a very
minor issue.

[Bug 38512] Re: Window close should close, not quit

2008-04-26 Thread end-user
I'm so tired of losing my random track or having to re-buffer my radio
feed because I accidentally close Rhythmbox. This happens 2-3 times a
session.

Minimizing to tray on close, honestly, should simply be the default
behaviour. It is just common sense.

Barring that, there should at least be an option in the main GUI. If
common sense isn't prevailing, at least let clear demand.

Barring THAT, there should at least be an option in gconfig. Frankly,
this isn't good enough. But it would show someone knows this is a
concern.

Barring even THAT, is a plug-in too much to ask? I mean, this has to be
one of the most requested features.

I appreciate the hard work that is put into this program. I was
disappointed to not see an option yet this time around - I know that if
it were added there would be a plethora of users who would be very
thankful, and would think kindly about the developers who took their
feedback to heart, every time they close Rhythmbox and see it go to the
tray. As it should.

[Bug 212658] [NEW] Nibbles profile selection menu locks up

2008-04-05 Thread end-user
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-games

When changing the Profile drop down menu in Nibbles GameNetwork Game,
the drop down menu locks up and a selection cannot be made. You can't
get out by clicking elsewhere, you are locked in the menu. Also, using
the scroll wheel at this point makes all the text around the drop down
menu vanish and come back with each scroll click. Hitting down then
enter on the keyboard seems to get unstuck.

This seems to happen when you have First Time Login selected under
Authentication type: selecting this makes the Profile drop down menu
clear out to the blank entry, so a natural reaction is to go up and
reselect the default GNOME Gaming Zone option.

Nibbles 2.20.3 on Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10

Additional Comment: Also it seems like it cannot connect to the gaming
zone. If the default server (gnome.ggzgamingzone.org) is chosen with
Guest or First Time Login chosen, it locks up.
