[Bug 874535] Re: Volume Slider Jumps, due to rapidly changing hardware jack sense state

2015-12-14 Thread fabiengb
Hi,

Same bug here on Ubuntu 15.10 (4.2.0-19-generic) with an Asus Z-97-C
motherboard.

David Henningsson post (#31) did the trick, but i have spent some times
finding the solution for this.

Anyway, thanks David

[Bug 1321421] Re: 8086:8ca0 Sound output distorted/unusable with Intel Z97/H97

2015-02-13 Thread fabiengb
Running Ubuntu 14.10 with an Asus Z97-C motherboard, 3.16.0-30-generic
kernel.

Adding

options snd-hda-intel vid=8086 pid=8ca0 snoop=0

to alsa-base.conf does solve the problem, but only partially in my
opinion.

The thing is the sound is far from perfect. I can hear the sound
scratching from time to time.

When watching alsamixer, i have noticed that when the sound is
scratching, the level of the PCM column if changing rapidly. It
decreases and then goes back to the original value.

I thought it was an issue related to auto mute, but this feature is
disabled in alsamixer.

[Bug 345374] Re: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 191 Gigabit Ethernet

2010-09-19 Thread fabiengb
This bug is still present in lucid ...
Changing the MTU fixes the issue but it would be better if the SIS 191 would
work with a fresh install of Ubuntu, without changing any stuff, especially for
those who are discovering the system.

So, can anybody please tell us if this issue will be fixed in maverick ?

[Bug 550040] Re: Don't work CPU fan cooling at TOSHIBA satellite U505-S2925BN in the Ubuntu 10.04 beta1

2010-05-26 Thread fabiengb
Hi,

According to lm-sensors, this is a bug due to the 2.6.31 kernel with
some asus mobos : http://www.lm-
sensors.org/wiki/FAQ/Chapter3#Mysensorshavestoppedworkinginkernel2.6.31

There are two ways to fix that :

- The bad way : Add the acpi_enforce_resources=lax option to the kernel
(grub.cfg)
- The clean way : Add asus_atk0110 module to /etc/modules

Both fix worked for me but i am experiencing now another bug with
pwmconfig : it reads fine the speed of fans, but it is impossible to set
the speed.
