[Bug 1409280] Re: Graphviz's sfdp is seriuosly crippled without a triangulation library
I'm using the grapviz_2.38.0-5ubuntu0 sources package from Utopic. The one linked to from http://packages.ubuntu.com/utopic/graphviz. Inside graphviz_2.38.0-5ubuntu0.1.debian.tar.xz you will find a debian/rules file that configures the package --without-gts. In http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/main/g/graphviz/graphviz_2.38.0-5ubuntu0.1/changelog, in the release notes for graphviz (2.20.2-1) you will find a note that says “Add “--without-gts” to configure arguments to make sure not to link against GTS, at least for now.” Unfortunately, no justification why that was a good idea at the time. [Bug 1409280] [NEW] Graphviz's sfdp is seriuosly crippled without a triangulation library
Public bug reported: The Graphviz package is built --without-gts. This is bad news for sfdp, which complains “Error: remove_overlap: Graphviz not built with triangulation library” and fails to produce the beautiful output it creates when compiled --with-gts. I saw no real justification for this setting, other than a note from 2008 saying that the flag was added to prevent GTS from being linked in “for now”. [Bug 1003096] Re: kernel panic while using nfs4/kerberos/autofs5
Dear Joseph, I would greatly appreciate if the bug could be reported upsteam by the ubuntu developers. Temporarity (hopefully) we switched to using samba. I will be away from our IT systems for the next couple of weeks and will therefore not be able to do any further debugging. Before upgrading to ubuntu 12.04 we did use 10.04. I did use NFS4/kerberos/autofs with it, but not as intensively as we are doing now. In any case with that wersion we never had kernel panic problems. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1003096 Title: kernel panic while using nfs4/kerberos/autofs5 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1003096/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1003096] [NEW] kernel panic while using nfs4/kerberos/autofs5
Public bug reported: Fresh install of 12.04 desktop. Updated 22 May with latest updates. The system mounts kerberized NFS4 shares with autofs5 from an ubuntu 10.04 server. After a variable amount of time (minutes to a few hours) the system crashes with no shutdown possibility (neither local nor remote). Only option is a hard power-off. The system crashed 4 times in a single afternoon. Before configuring the NFS4 shares I did use the system for 2 days with no single crash. At the moment I disabled the mounts and for the moment the system is running OK. [Bug 91890] Re: Custom DNS settings lost on boot
I found another way to "solve" this bug. I 've edited /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/base, and added a line with "nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx", where "x" needs to be replaced by your ips numbers. Then you can run resovconf -u, this will write the content of base into resolv.conf, you can check if it's ok. Restart the networking services (/etc/init.d/networking restart), or reboot the machine. It has worked for me. -- Custom DNS settings lost on boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91890 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks for your time Richard ;) 1) About the clean up, I've removed everything that wasn't necessary for the packaging, and I think that a cleaned rules file is the best way to be sure that in the future anyone can work on the package without problems. 2) Asdasd, sorry about that...actually I haven't understand yet very well the maintainer policy :( 3) I use dpatch because it looks to me the easiest and better way... 4) I've named the patches in that way, to be informative about what the patches do also with the filename...
