[Bug 1089107] [NEW] cannot suspend from gnome3
Public bug reported: In a recent install of Ubuntu 12.10, when using the Gnome desktop, if I try to Suspend from the top-corner pulldown menu, nothing happens (no error messages, no attempt to suspend, no nothing. The request seems to be completely ignored.). I have done this successfully on previous versions of Ubuntu, and I am able to suspend (and resume) just fine when using Unity, so this appears to be a relatively new problem specific to Gnome.. [Bug 905052] [NEW] Xorg freeze
Public bug reported: I'm encountering a problem when trying to use my Dell E6400 laptop (i915 video chipset) with an external DisplayPort monitor (DELL3007WFPHC via an Apple DP-DVI active adapter). It works fine if I boot up with the monitor connected, but if I start without it and then plug it in while the X server is running, it completely locks up X. When I remove the monitor, X starts working again and I can continue as if nothing had happened. I have tested things while only running a basic X server/xterm and the problem still happens as soon as the monitor is plugged in. I have tested the following scenarios: X running -- plug-in monitor = freeze X running -- plug-in monitor -- (freeze) -- unplug monitor = unfreezes X stopped -- plug-in monitor = works (monitor mirrors text console) X stopped -- plug-in monitor -- start X = works (mirroring/separate/different resolutions/etc all work fine via gnome settings) (freeze) -- unplug -- (unfreeze) -- stop X -- plug-in -- start X = works (freeze/unfreeze does not appear to have any lasting effects on behavior) Please let me know if there's any additional info I can provide that would be of assistance. [Bug 905052] Re: Xorg freeze
Oh, I forgot to mention that I do not encounter the lockup if I connect the monitor to the DisplayPort using a passive DP-DVI (pass-through) adapter, it only seems to occur when using the native DisplayPort output mode (unfortunately, however, the passive DVI adapter cannot support my monitor's full resolution) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/905052 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/905052/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 852219] Re: gnome-terminal crashed with signal 5 in _XError()
I have been experiencing the same problem ever since upgrading to Oneiric, and it's getting rather annoying (about every third time I suspend/resume, gnome-terminal crashes and all my terminal windows go poof). Is there any update on this? Is there anything I can do to assist the process? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/852219 Title: gnome-terminal crashed with signal 5 in _XError() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/852219/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 85627] Re: MASTER firefox crash [@ IM_get_input_context]
In case it's useful, I have what I suspect is a related crashing problem, with a very reproducible testcase: Using Firefox 2.0.0.3, stock package from Ubuntu Edgy, with only the following add-on: RikaiChan 1.00 (from http://www.polarcloud.com/rikaichan/) and the Japanese-English dictionary for it. Also using SCIM with Anthy for Japanese language input using a US keyboard. 1. Start up Firefox 2. Switch input method to Anthy 3. Go to the Tools menu, and select Add-ons Firefox will crash every time. It will not crash if the input method is English/Keyboard, only if it is set to Anthy. Note that it is not necessary to type anything for it to crash, if the menu option is selected (even by mouse) simply while Anthy is active, it will crash immediately. An alternate method is also to do the following: 1. Start up Firefox 2. Press Alt-Delete to bring up the RikaiChan LookupBar 3. Switch input method to Anthy 4. Click on the settings (gear) icon in the RikaiChan bar (Firefox will crash) -- MASTER firefox crash [@ IM_get_input_context] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/85627 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
