That's probably the reason. One of them is listening on port 80 and when the other one tries to restart (IIRC they both do that in their postinst script) it fails.. The solution is to stop apache and then upgrade lighttpd. The only real solution to this problem is to tell the user that the upgrade failed because something is listening on port 80.
