[Bug 48634] Re: Installation hangs at hda: cdrom_pc_intr: The drive appears confused (ireason=0x01)

2006-07-01 Thread genus
Yes, setting Compatible mode to PATA works. Thanks for the hint.

Unfortunately, the kernel does not recognize my Promise RAID adapter, so
I finally installed FreeBSD 6.1.

[Bug 48634] Re: Installation hangs at hda: cdrom_pc_intr: The drive appears confused (ireason=0x01)

2006-06-25 Thread genus
Found the same problem with the 6.06 Desktop CD. When Ubuntu tries to
mount the root partition, stalls by repeating this message:

[4294865.XX] hdc: cdrom_pc_intr: The drive appears confused (ireason
= 0x01)

System:

P4 2.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM, ASUS P4P800S-SE mainboard, ATI Radeon 7500LE,
Plextor Plexwriter 24/10/40 A, Promise FastTrak TX2 RAID.
