[Bug 786992] Re: Using Natty and LIbreOffice Base, everything is painfully slow
This also happens with Debian. I've seen the slowdown happen with java 6.24, 6.25 and 6.26. I ended installing 6.21 to fix the slowdown problem. I also understand this happens with OpenOffice when using java 6.24, 6.25 and 6.26. Here is how to duplicate the slowdown problem. You have to open a openoffice or libreoffice database with a certain number of records. I have a database with over 900 records and when scrolling from page to page takes at least 12 second or more to go to the next page. This didn't occur with java 6.21. Some people say 6.22 fixes this problem but some users still have this issue even with 6.22 http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=114042 http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=41269 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1693148 http://hardc0l2e.wordpress.com/2011/04/05/libreoffice-openoffice-base-slow/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/786992 Title: Using Natty and LIbreOffice Base, everything is painfully slow To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/786992/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95853] Re: Add an option to get a confirmation dialog before sending files to the trash in Nautilus
Sebastien, If all installations were to ship exactly the same stuff, there would be no point using one or the other, don't you think? Anyway, I just sent the patch upstream and let's see what they say. In my case, I don't really care anymore cause I switched to archlinux about 3 years ago and I am using my own patched version of nautilus-elementary. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95853 Title: Nautilus: too easy to move files/folders to Trash (single key press of "Delete") -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 95853] Re: Add an option to get a confirmation dialog before sending files to the trash in Nautilus
Paul: the attached file will patch correctly against nautilus 2.32.2.1 The current schema you are referring to has nothing to do with this bug. The confirm_trash boolean value will ask user a confirmation before emptying the trashbin or before deleting files without passing through the trash first. Bug #95853 is about having a confirmation when you move files to the trash (mainly because if you hit the delete key on your keyboard without noticing it you will lose stuff). My patch adds a new schema variable in apps/nautilus/confirm_movetotrash and that will let the user decide whether they will have a confirmation prompt or not. ** Patch added: "nautilus-2.32.2.1-confirmtotrash.patch" https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/95853/+attachment/1907775/+files/nautilus-2.32.2.1-confirmtotrash.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95853 Title: Add an option to get a confirmation dialog before sending files to the trash in Nautilus -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95853] Re: Delete file in Nautlus - no warning
I swear I am having the hardest time understanding those who oppose this. There is already a checkbox to ask the user whether they want a confirmation dialog for real delete. What is the big deal in having another checkbox to ask whether they want a confirmation upon move to trash??? It's 10 lines of code, for chris sake! You don't want no confirmation dialog? You leave unchanged and your life is the same. I did loose some files just because I hit the delete key accidentally(reads: *without even noticing I did*). [Bug 32415] Re: Apple Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard pairing broken in Dapper/Edgy/Feisty
So I think I found people with a similar problem finally. I have this symptoms: everything works ok until the computer goes to a long idle time: usually the overnight break. When I am back in the morning the keyboard won't work anymore and I am forced to restart (I can still use the mouse). Sometimes I get some segfault in gdm during the shuting down procedure but I am not sure that is related. Now I unplugged the bluetooth dongle from the PC last week and guess what? Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm Ubuntu HH, 8.04 gdm 2.20.5-0ubuntu3 So, I am pretty sure that this bug affects gdm and also that it is quite popular albeit not easily recognized. (see also http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=347682&page=2) Basically from time to time the keyboard becomes completely unresponsive. This usually happens after long period of inactivity (in my case almost constantly overnight). Sometimes it may happen just during regular use, in the middle of something without any real motivation. Restart the system using the mouse is possible and the rebooting messages show always a "gdm sefgault in , Error 4" where are numbers. [Bug 110394] Re: Keyboard freezes completely and mouse interaction doesn't work for some tasks (Happens randomly but inevitable)
Very same thing here, using Hardy on a dell optiplex desktop. The thing is really annoying. It happens only after long sleep times: usually I come back in the morning and find my pc responsive to everything but the keyboard. If I try restart sometimes it hangs and all I am left to do is a cold poweroff. Other times it starts the restart process but then it hangs with a segfault: no trace of it in the logs. Shutdown usually works ok. my kernel is 2.6.24-15-generic but this thing was present also with the older kernels. Glad I finally found this thread after days of research. My guess is that the fact that no specific error message is given makes difficult to people even complaint about it so this bug seems relatively infrequent but it might well be a common one. -- Keyboard freezes completely and mouse interaction doesn't work for some tasks (Happens randomly but inevitable) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110394 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
