[Bug 133476] Re: mysql-query-browser crashed with SIGSEGV in MGTableBrowserList::refresh_sp_list()
It is still very much reproducible on 9.04. I was about to file a new bug report, but saw existing bug report here. Steps to reproduce: 1. [Bug 385802] Re: KDE updates should be available through normal repos rather than ppas
Very well, I agree with all that. If the same flow is to be followed for 9.10, I would request to setup one fixed PPA url. From my past experience PPA urls keep changing and sometimes updates to Amarok is available from one url and updates for other pieces available from some other url. This shouldn't be the case. One PPA url should be available for getting point release updates for all KDE components (including Amarok, now that it has reached stability somewhat). People should be encouraged to file bug reports against PPA builds and once critical or blocker bugs are fixed in PPA builds, point releases should be rolled in into main repositories. -- KDE updates should be available through normal repos rather than ppas https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/385802 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 384277] Re: KDE desktop locks up when closing certain windows
May be or may be not. But isn't there anyone out there with similar chipset and graphics card who can reproduce this problem? Also I guess its not specific to graphics card as well (might be specific to driver though), since I get similar problems on my office desktop which has "Nvidia 6200 turbo cache" GPU, although it happens somewhat rarely there. But anyways, I do believe this report might be worthless to you guys since there is already an report with upstream as well as with nvidia people. -- KDE desktop locks up when closing certain windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 385802] [NEW] KDE updates should be available through normal repos rather than ppas
Public bug reported: This is more of a feature request but IMHO since Gnome updates from upstream are usually available through normal repositories, same should be true for KDE as well. [Bug 384277] [NEW] KDE desktop locks up when closing certain windows
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase-plasma I am currently running KDE 4.2.4 from (http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu- ppa/ppa/ubuntu) on Inspiron 1520 (Nvidia 8400 M GS with latest driver 180.60) and I see frequent freezes/lockups when I close certain Windows like firefox with few tabs, Emacs or Konsole. Mouse still keeps working, but KDE doesn't respond to any keyboard event except switching to console via Alt-Ctrl-F1..F6. After temporary pause of few seconds everything starts working again as usual (without restarting or anything of the sort). I have faced this issue from KDE 4.1.3 and all versions of NVIDIA drivers. The problem doesn't occur when running Gnome. I had same problem with vanilla install of KDE 4.2.2 from stock Kubuntu as well. The network manager spinner started to spin and then it got stuck. Also, i am sure my router is fine and its running, because other connections are active. I must reboot my machine. Also, I notice that whenever this happens, I am unable to start any new applications ( with few exceptions ). Starting nautilus simply does nothing. When started from gnome-terminal again, nothing happens. Command just waits there, no nautilus window comes up. When starting with strace, i found that nautilus hangs at: fstat64("/etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/extra-modules.conf", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=225, ...}) = 0 open("/etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/extra-modules.conf", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 10 fstat64(10, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=225, ...}) = 0 mmap2(NULL, 4096, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0) = 0xb7fbe000 read(10, "#\n# Module configuration file fo"..., 4096) = 225 read(10, "", 4096) = 0 close(10) = 0 munmap(0xb7fbe000, 4096)= 0 rt_sigaction(SIGPIPE, {SIG_IGN}, {SIG_IGN}, 8) = 0 time(NULL) = 1203167279 mkdir("/home/hemant/.gnome2", 0700) = -1 EEXIST (File exists) mkdir("/home/hemant/.gnome2_private", 0700) = -1 EEXIST (File exists) chmod("/home/hemant/.gnome2_private/", 0700) = 0 mkdir("/home/hemant/.gnome2/accels", 0700) = -1 EEXIST (File exists) open("/usr/share/locale/en_IN/LC_MESSAGES/libbonobo-2.0.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) open("/usr/share/locale/en/LC_MESSAGES/libbonobo-2.0.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) open("/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_IN/LC_MESSAGES/libbonobo-2.0.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) open("/usr/share/locale-langpack/en/LC_MESSAGES/libbonobo-2.0.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) gettimeofday({1203167279, 447353}, NULL) = 0 gettimeofday({1203167279, 447609}, NULL) = 0 gettimeofday({1203167279, 447782}, NULL) = 0 socket(PF_FILE, SOCK_STREAM, 0) = 10 uname({sys="Linux", node="shire", ...}) = 0 connect(10, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path="/tmp/.ICE-unix/6083"}, 21) = 0 fcntl64(10, F_SETFD, FD_CLOEXEC)= 0 write(10, "\0\1\0\0\0\0\0\0", 8)= 8 read(10, In a nutshell, its waiting on file /tmp/.ICE-unix/6803 Also Choosing "quit" from System menu brings up nothing and I must either restart the system or press Alt-Ctrl-Backspace. pressing Alt-Ctrl-Backspace will result in lots of zombies and all the process owned by that user will become zombie.
