[Bug 658865] Re: Install from USB fails: An attempt to configure apt to install additional packages from the CD failed

2013-04-13 Thread husfeldt
Impressive bug - high severity bug that is alive on now here well into 2013 --
and was reported first time 2010..
Further the fix appears to be damm simple -- remove the '40cdrom' and all
works...

How to workaround until this bug gets fixed sometime in far future...
1) Boot chosing the try live option
2) open a terminal
3) enter sudo mv /usr/lib/ubiquity/apt-setup/generators/40cdrom /
4) click the install icon .. and complete installation

I have fighted for hours trying to install Lubuntu 12.04 now ..
PLEASE FIX THIS STUPID BUG SOMEONE

[Bug 1038473] Re: I cannot mount sd cards

2012-09-17 Thread husfeldt
I made it work on Lenovo E530, and Linux Mint 13.
You need to download and compile drivers from Realtek.
Realtek RTS5229_Linux_Driver_v1.07..

Follow the Readme,txt

make
sudo make install
sudo depmod

Reboot!

Same problem here with a Lenovo E530 running Linux mint 13.
Nothing seems to happen when I insert my SD-card (have only tried one card -
will see if I can try another one)

[Bug 278176] Re: Intrepid ubuntu server won't boot RAID1

2008-11-03 Thread husfeldt
Yes.. on compaq nc8430 the rootdelay=130 does it also..
That is in the boot menu (for not so technical users).

Press e, choose the kernel line add rootdelay=130 press 'esc', press
'b'
