[Bug 728745] Re: [nvidia, 7300, 7400] display freeze when using unity desktop
This fixes the problem: ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/275.43/ and for 64 bit users: ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/275.43/ They state (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=2510957): * Fixed a regression that caused blank/white windows when exhausting video memory on GeForce 6 and 7 series GPUs while using composited desktops. And that's true: tested and working. Hope for a fast update of nvidia- graphics-driver related package through synaptic. I installed the driver from NVIDIA binaries and am currently running GNOME 3 on Ubuntu 11.10; my video card is a NVIDIA GO 7300; can confirm nvidia driver 275.43 works properly (on my laptop). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/728745 Title: [nvidia, 7300, 7400] display freeze when using unity desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nux/+bug/728745/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 728745] Re: [nvidia, 7300, 7400] display freeze when using unity desktop
Sorry, backporting 260.xx is not possibile since 260.xx branch is compiled against a different xorg ABI version than oneiric has, hence it does not work. Using IgnoreABI crashes x. However, using 173.xx branch (which works) is a huge regression in term of performance. Nouveau works, but it's kind of a regression (comparing to nvidia latest branch) too.

290.03 nvidia driver presents the same issue as 280.xx branch. I'm tryng to backport 260.xx branch, which shouldn't be affected by the bug, and see if it works. [Bug 521509] Re: player 1 visual corruption
Perfect! I tried Pegasus' remedy, by adding a rebootMixxxView(); at line 341 in src/mixxxview.cpp from the sources of mixxx 1.7.2 (got with an apt-get source, apt-get build-deb and scons did the job of resolving the dependencies and compiling for me) and everything works fine. [Bug 477226] Re: Sound simultaneously on headphones and speakers - Lenovo IdeaPad u350
I don't know how to help about jack detection. It doesn't work on my laptop (lenovo 3000 N200 hda-intel) as well (and it never did). But I can tell you how I successfully made my headphones work again with connector selection option in gnome-volume-preferences applet. Open a terminal and type cd /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/ then give a sudo gedit analog-output-headphones.conf. Locate [Element Front] in gedit and replace [Element Front] switch = off volume = off with: [Element Front] switch = off volume = merge. The save, close and reboot. This time connector selection option should work. --- If it doesn't, please open a terminal and type: alsamixer, then try setting all volumes to high, including front, and all the trigger on (you can toggle a trigger by pressing m), all but the front trigger which should be set to off. -- Sound simultaneously on headphones and speakers - Lenovo IdeaPad u350 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477226 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 511719] [NEW] Ardour's Italian Translation makes it impossible to use it
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ardour I mean, it's totally useless. When things are done this way, things don't get better but worse. I've been using Ardour in English version for 2 years, and it does its job well. But recently, I re-installed my computer and found out that everything got translated to Italian. I mean, please, what's that?! Please give us back the English version! I don't know anything about the translator, but one can't use strings which are so long that they make program's interface expand over a 1280x800 screen. And even in the dialogues it's the same! And the texts, they are so literal that one can't understand what they refer to! One can't translate technical terms which make sense in English but do not in Italian. Please review this, and until the translation is useful, please, let us install the English one. BTW, is there a way to change Ardour's language? I did not found any options in the menu (but the menu are not understandable, because of this bad translation). ** Affects: ardour (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: translation -- Ardour's Italian Translation makes it impossible to use it https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/511719 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 502375] Re: Wine randomly cannot initialize sound
You can fix winmm.dll problem, without recompiling the kernel, by setting your audio output to oss in winecfg. Run winecfg, switch to audio tab, select oss output. If you can't access winecfg, please try the following steps: disable any soundcard which is giving problem (i.e. remove usb soundcards, disable internal ones from bios), then run winecfg, set the right output, enable all your soundcards, reboot. For me, everything has worked fine since I took these steps. I'm running ubuntu karmik with kernel 2.6.31-9-rt #152-Ubuntu x86_64, internal soundcard: intel hda, external soundcard: hercules mk2 (usb). -- Wine randomly cannot initialize sound https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/502375 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
