Following Szymon's post earlier, i downgraded my xserver and the nvidia drivers and everything is working fine. I had to go thru the trouble of pinning the packages in synaptic and then also holding them in dpkg separately just to make sure i don't accidently upgrade them. [Bug 464710] Re: LiveCD freeze
I am having the exact same problem. I burned 5 different cd's of kubuntu, ubuntu and kubuntu-alternate.
