[Bug 672678] [NEW] krunner "mail to" not there anymore when typing the name of a contact

2010-11-08 Thread iopo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdeplasma-addons

When starting krunner and writing the name of a contact, the only option
returned is opening the v-card file with kate. Since the mail plugin is
enabled by default - I checked - there should also be the option of
sending an mail to this contact.

I'm on a fresh install of Kubuntu Maverick adm64. I have the kubuntu-ppa
repository enabled.

Re: [Bug 335083] Re: computer freezes, keyboard lights blink and then the system crashes

2010-03-14 Thread iopo
Hi Jeremy,

It has not been an issue for me in quite some times. I can't recall
exactly when it stopped, probably when I installed 9.10. Sorry for not
reporting it.

All the best

Andrea

[Bug 335083] Re: computer freezes, keyboard lights blink and then the system crashes

2009-03-13 Thread iopo
Hi!
it happen again, this time after resuming from "sleep". After that, I put the
computer to sleep, logged back in and shut down the computer. The system got
stuck for about 15 min half way through the shut down phase (I could see the
logo and the progress bar fixed). Trying alt+prnt scrn+b didn't have any effect
so I think it is the kernel. I had to unplug the power cord and unplug the
battery. Here are my logs. By the way, the freeze occurred yesterday (march 12
2009) around 10 pm; while the computer hang at shut down few minutes ago (more
or less around 1030 am on march 13 2009).

[Bug 335083] [NEW] computer freezes, keyboard lights blink and then the system crashes

2009-02-26 Thread iopo
Public bug reported:

When I'm using my laptop, the screen will freeze, the system will remain
unresponsive for few moments, the "caps lock" light and another light next to
it start blinking, after a while I can hear the fan spinning very fast and the
system crashes.
I noticed that this is somehow similar to what described here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/326655
but in my case the crash happens while I'm actively using the computer, and not
when it is idle.
I have a Dell Latitude E6400, I use Kubuntu 8.10 with KDE 4.2 with kernel
2.6.27-9-generic

[Bug 204996] Re: Linux kernel 2.6.24-12 lockup

2008-04-30 Thread iopo
Hi!
I'm having the same issue. The freeze is quite random but I found out that it
always happen after few minutes I'm playing a game called Glest.
At first I thought it was a video card issue but I tried with the proprietary
driver, without it, with compiz running, with compiz without running and it
still freezes.

In fact I was able to have induce a freeze just few minutes ago (04/30/08 at
10:59 AM). You may find something useful in my logs.

[Bug 90243] Re: [rt61] Lockups running Feisty on x86-64

2007-05-22 Thread iopo
Hi!

I don't know how much this could be useful, but I have unistalled Feisty
and installed linux mint "cassandra" and I had no more freeze!

Since the two OS 99% identical (linux mint has codecs-flash plug in and
Java preinstalled and different menus and themes; nothing really
essential) it may be interesting to figure out what is this 1%: my guess
is that the problem is there.

[Bug 50500] Re: Screen freezes black and locks up randomly

2007-04-25 Thread iopo
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 50501 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/50501

Similar problem. 'm not using any restricted driver and I have a fresh
installation of the final feisty release! I'm on ati and I have 'desktop
effects' enabled.

Here what happen: for no apparent reason (although it is somehow
correlated with firefox) the CPU usage goes to 90% for about 20 sec. If
during this period I open menus if I do something in a fast sequence the
computer freezes: I can move the mouse but nothing responds, no
or . The only thing I can do is
.

I also notice one thing. When the CPU usage peaks (90% or so), if I open
the system monitor there are just 4-5 active processes using around 5%
each. Weird!

Here are my specs: Dell inspiron 6000, intel pentium M (no dual core!),
ATI Mobility Radeon X300

[Bug 109473] feisty: alsa problem after hdparm activation

2007-04-23 Thread iopo
Public bug reported:

Hi

I have a fresh Feisty installation and few days ago I was checking what
services are starting as default.

I unchecked the bluetooth, I checked the hdparm and the alsa-utils.

Well, what happened is that I had no sound at all!

The funny thing is that bringing everything back to the default
configuration and rebooting didn't make any difference: still no sound!

Also, the hotkeys "mute" "volume-up" "volume-down" were perfectly
working: the bar pops up and it seems I can adjust the volume but again
no sound.

Also when I pressed these hotkeys a new type of icon (rather big)
appears.

I checked my alsa mixer and everything seems fine.

Then I started googoling around and I found this thread:

http://tech.kiawin.com/2007/04/issue...-thinkpad.html

that was describing a similar problem. First I reinstalled alsa-utils
with hdparm enabled and still no sound. Then I disabled hdparm,
reinstalled alsa-utils and the sound is back!

Now I have alsa-utils and hdparm starting at boot up and the sound is fine.

I have no idea if this makes any sense at all!
