[Bug 538372] Re: new Ubuntu 10.04 themes don't properly support RTL languages
at first, i thought the bug is a duplicate of Bug #532633 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/light-themes/+bug/532633), since Marián Bača (https://launchpad.net/~majoobaca), the reporter, describes the issue in his first sentence.. yet again, it isn't the main issue, so i reverted the idea ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 532633 [light-theme] please revert the order of the window controls back to menu:minimize, maximize, close -- new Ubuntu 10.04 themes don't properly support RTL languages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538372 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

IMHO, i think we can all save the trouble of configuring the theme to RTL and making the text display on the right end side when using RTL locale, and simply center it. i don't understand why we're bothering ourselves with this.. -- new Ubuntu 10.04 themes don't properly support RTL languages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538372 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 404363] [NEW] desktop icons aren't alighned automatically in RTL languages (Hebrew, Arabic)
Public bug reported: Hi all, In my Mom's computer the localization is in Hebrew, meaning that all menus, folders, and Desktop icons are RTL. As an End-User, every time my Mom downloads something, or drags a file/shortcut to the desktop, the icon doesn't align itself to the grid of the other icons automatically, but instead lands in one area (usually the top right). Yet, the bug doesn't stop there. If that icon is left there, the upcoming icons that will be added to the desktop will land right on top of it, creating a lovely stack as shown in the pic: http://www.ubuntu-il.com/forums/download/file.php?id=27 http://www.ubuntu-il.com/forums/download/file.php?id=26 (credits to Shezif for posting the pics..) I recently opened a print queue to find the same document 6 times. Normally the problem is a simple as the printer being switched off, or a cable being unplugged. Since it's a fresh install, i added, just like i did when i had 8.10, the Medibuntu repos. i tried, but until today (5 days or so) synaptic didn't update the packages within it, so i can't install Skype, or Acroread or Mozilla-acroread plugin and so forth.. i checked within the Terminal, and so that there's a massive ignorance from many repos., even the Ubuntu 3rd party.. hope you'll be able to help me.. it's a weird and interesting issue.. thanks in advance Uri P.S: i added my 'apt-get update' here: ushab...@ushabtay-laptop:~$ sudo apt-get update Hit http://packages.medibuntu.org jaunty Release.gpg Ign http://packages.medibuntu.org jaunty/free Translation-en_US Hit http://archive.canonical.com jaunty Release.gpg Ign http://archive.canonical.com jaunty/partner Translation-en_US Ign http://packages.medibuntu.org jaunty/non-free Translation-en_US Hit http://packages.medibuntu.org jaunty Release Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty Release.gpg Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Translation-en_US Hit http://archive.canonical.com jaunty Release Hit http://packages.medibuntu.org jaunty/free Packages Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/restricted Translation-en_US Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/universe Translation-en_US Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/multiverse Translation-en_US Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates Release.gpg Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/main Translation-en_US Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/restricted Translation-en_US Ign http://archive.canonical.com jaunty/partner Packages Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/universe Translation-en_US Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/multiverse Translation-en_US Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security Release.gpg Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/main Translation-en_US Hit http://packages.medibuntu.org jaunty/non-free Packages Hit http://packages.medibuntu.org jaunty/free Sources Hit http://packages.medibuntu.org jaunty/non-free Sources Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/restricted Translation-en_US Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/universe Translation-en_US Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/multiverse Translation-en_US Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty Release Ign http://archive.canonical.com jaunty/partner Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates Release Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security Release Hit http://archive.canonical.com jaunty/partner Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/restricted Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/restricted Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/multiverse Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/universe Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/universe Packagesthis Hit http://archive.canonical.com jaunty/partner Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/multiverse Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/main Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/restricted Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/restricted Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/main Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/multiverse Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/universe Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/universe Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/multiverse Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/main Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/restricted Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/restricted Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/main Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/multiverse Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/universe Sources Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/universe Packages Hit http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/multiverse Packages ** Affects: synaptic (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- new repositories won't update synaptic/update manager https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/364726 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 89741] Re: Title bar not drawn on maximized windows when desktop effects are enabled
hi all, my problem is similar but the Titlebar (meaning the writings in it, the decoration is fine) isn't shown when Compiz is enabled.. i can't upload any pics, so it'll be a little hard to explain.. i have Ubuntu 8.10 with Hebrew and Arabic locale (the menus are in English though) and when i use metacity, everything is working fine. In the same window, when i enable Compiz, the headline is GONE (in Emerald i can see the edges of the headline in the far right corner of the titlebar). This happens only with Hebrew and Arabic sentences only (probably because it's RTL). in English it works fine. thanks in advance.. [Bug 350302] [NEW] Alt+Tab between windows makes Tab go crazy
Public bug reported: hi all, Every once in a while, whenever i press the Alt+Tab combination to switch between windows, Tab goes crazy and continue to be PRESSED while i am not pressing it.. (this is quite scary when working in office documents.. but also in Firefox and other apps.) i checked the speed of the tab by pressing it normally by myself, to see if there's something wrong with my hardware, God for bid. I noticed it's a hole lot slower... meaning that my Dell Inspiron 1525 is ok. the only way i found to cancel this craziness, is by pressing esc. again, this doesn't always happen, but when it does, it's very annoying.. and destructive in some cases. i am using 8.10, with Compiz working properly (somehow i have a hunch it has something to do with this..) thanks in advance.. hi all, i add this bug report as a comment because i already added it into the medibuntu package/repo. a couple of problems i have with GoogleEarth 1. doesn't load without sudo before the command. if so, i see only the stars. 2. compiz needs to be DISABLED in order for it to work. probably due to my Intel X3100 graphics card, (bad drivers..?) 3. version 4.2 crashes after a second of load, and proper picture. 4.3 works fine. only few bugs on the bottom (can't see the written words properly - (streaming etc.) at first, i thought this had to do with the software itself, but then i figured it's a problem with the Xorg and the intel X3100 chip also, Trip, i would like to know which packages did you install in order to make it work (it works much better than in my laptop..) and whether you use compiz fusion when you use it... thanks in advance, hope one day this intel issue will be solved.. -- Broken Image/Road Overlays on Google Earth https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/165117 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
