[Bug 281982] Re: [needs-packaging] ipwatchd
** Description changed: Greetings, as you may know linux kernel does not react to Gratuitous ARP requests neither IP conflicts and therefore it would be very useful to have IPwatchD package in Ubuntu. IPwatchD is simple daemon that uses libpcap to detect IP conflict on Linux. It can be configured to listen on one or more interfaces (alias interfaces are also supported) in active or passive mode. In active mode IPwatchD protects your host before IP takeover by answering Gratuitous ARP requests received from conflicting system. In passive mode it just records information about conflict through standard syslog interface. [Bug 425891] [NEW] Call to pcap_close() causes Segmentation fault
Public bug reported: I am using Ubuntu 9.04 with libpcap0.8 1.0.0-1 and I suspect there is a bug in libpcap that causes my application to segfault. I am attaching simple test case pcap_test.c that can be build with following command: # gcc -Wall -O2 pcap_test.c -o pcap_test -lpcap Application can be started by: # ./pcap_test And then stopped by: # killall pcap_test It should end without any problem, but call to pcap_close() causes segmentation fault. ** Affects: libpcap0.8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Call to pcap_close() causes Segmentation fault https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/425891 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
