 Title:
[arrandale] When i upgraded to 10.10 the screen on my laptop(Gateway
nv79) went completely black and I could not see anything unless I held
a flashlight to the screen to see. The only way I am able to fix this

sleep it goes back to the black screen. I could not find another fix
because once I did the system testing for 10.10 it would not allow me

The backlight still doesn't work in Maverick, but I am currently testing
Natty and the backlight works.

On Feb 18, 2011 11:01 PM, bugbot 612...@bugs.launchpad.net wrote:

Hey jazz41408,

Thanks for testing maverick during its development period. Unfortunately it
looks like this bug report didn't get attention during the maverick
development period. But I see there's not been more comments on the bug
since the release, which makes me wonder if this is still an issue for you?

If you've not seen this issue since maverick's release yourself, it may
have been solved by kernel or X or other updates that occurred late in
the release; if so, would you mind please closing the bug for us? Go to
the URL mentioned in this bug report, click the yellow icon(s) in the
status column and set to 'Fix Released'.

If you no longer have the hardware needed to reproduce the problem, or
otherwise feel the bug no longer needs tracked in Launchpad, you can set
the status to 'Invalid'.

If you are the original reporter and still have this issue, just reply
to this email saying so. (Or set the bug status to Confirmed.) If you
are able to re-test this against 11.04 Natty Narwhal (our current
development focus) and find the issue still affects Natty, please also
run 'apport-collect bug-number' while running natty, which will add
fresh logs and debug data, and flag it for the Ubuntu-X development team
to look at.

confused by the EDID configuration your panel gives; could that be
screwing up your backlight functionality?

[Bug 705949] [NEW] Gateway NV79 Backlight and Monitor trouble

2011-01-21 Thread jazz41408
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Backlight doesn't turn on unless it is plugged into an external monitor.
When it is plugged into an external monitor you can see the screen
clearly on the external monitor, but on the laptop the screen is split
by a black line.

Re: [Bug 705949] Re: Gateway NV79 Backlight and Monitor trouble

2011-01-21 Thread jazz41408
I was using Lucid and had no back light issues, but on Maverick and Natty I
had to plug in a VGA cable to make the back light work on both versions.
Plus my contrast does not work in neither Natty, Maverick, or Lucid.

When did this first start happening? Had you had natty installed and
working on it previously? I see this natty install was a fresh install,
but had you had maverick or other ubuntu releases working properly on it
 before?

[Bug 584387] [NEW] Microphone doesn't work on acer aspire one series D250-1417

2010-05-22 Thread jazz41408
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook Series: D250-1417 Model#: KAV60 with
built in Microphone and Camera. It runs Ubuntu 10.04 netbook edition and
it identifies the camera but not the microphone. There is no noise at
all. It works only with sound recorder but skype and empathy theres no
sound. I tried going to sound, input and there is no option for my
microphone.

** Affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
