I have discovered that it is not my GFX card, but my monitor. I have bought a new one and now everything works. [Bug 196065] [NEW] Cannot start Kubuntu or Ubuntu
Public bug reported: I am using kubuntu 7.10. I try to boot it from the CD I ordered, but it seems to not work. The screen goes blank and I cannot use X. I can use tty login, (command) but even if I download the driver package that I need it will be removed on next boot(I am running it live). My Video card driver is the Intel 82810 and is not properly detected. Note: The same thing happened with Windows, until I downloaded the driver from http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intel810/ and installed in safe mode. It says the drivers for this should be included, but for some reason, it seems not or does not work at all. please help me with this as my other bug report didn't clear at all. BTW I have never used any linux distribution before, only windows, so if this is apparently really easy to fix dont blame me. [Bug 185510] Kubuntu wont install on my machine
Public bug reported: I have a intel 82810 graphics card which is quite buggy. When I load kubuntu live cd ( i havent installed it yet) normally, the screen goes blank after loading, but when I use it in safe graphics mode with VGA, after loading, it shows a non-moving colour bar at the top of the screen. After that I can not do anything and do not see any movement so i have to reboot. I would really appreciate some help on this. Also, with my XP, when I originally installed it, it too would not load untill i downloaded and installed the driver in safe mode. I have an Intel Celeron Processer, a PC about 6 Years old, 512 MB Ram, a CRT monitor, and the rest. I have spoken on the MIRC channels but noone seems to be able to help me.
