[Bug 1268338] [NEW] simple-scan works only with sudo.

2014-01-12 Thread jisaac
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I followed the instructions of this link http://www.ubuntu-
es.org/node/181782 to make my scanner working.

To use it, I have to run sudo simple-scan otherwise I get this error:
** (simple-scan:3354): WARNING **: Couldn't register with accessibility bus:
Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did
not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply
timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

Is there a solution for this issue?

Thanks.

[Bug 1176291] [NEW] LibreOffice 4.0.2.2: Calc gives Err:504 when external sheet is used with SUMIF() function.

2013-05-04 Thread jisaac
Public bug reported:

I’m experiencing Err:504 using SUMIF and external sheets.

I’m using LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 installed by default with Ubuntu 13.04.

I’ve attached “test_SUMIF-with-external-sheet.zip”. Just unzip and copy
the “external.ods” and “main.ods” files to “/tmp”.

Open “main.ods”, you should get an “Err:504” with the SUMIF function.

Is there a workaround? I have a lot of sheets using externals ones :(

Thanks!

[Bug 512413] Re: [Upstream] Calc database functions gives Err:504 when external sheet is used

2013-05-03 Thread jisaac
I'm able to reproduce this bug with SUMIF() and LibreOffice 4.0.2.2
installed by default with Ubuntu 13.04 :(

All my previous sheets were done with the default LibreOffice version of
Ubuntu 12.04 and a lot have external sheets linked :(

Is there a workaround?

Regards,

Jacques.

[Bug 690188] Re: bluetooth-applet crashed with SIGSEGV in dbusmenu_menuitem_property_set_value()

2011-01-06 Thread jisaac
It's happening on an iMac i7 27 booting at install time with nomodeset
xforcevesa options then, when logged in, the system asks me for pairing
my bluetooth devices (magicmouse and wireless keyboard) and bluetooth-
applet crashes.

I've got the same issue on maverick and natty.

PS: I had to boot with nomodeset xforcevesa because of the blank screen issue.
PS: Can't pair my Apple devices :(

[Bug 542660] Re: New Apple iMac (Core i5) fails to display anything

2010-12-10 Thread jisaac
I could not use Unity although the ATI Drivers were installed. I had to
switch to the classic desktop session. Natty's classic desktop is still
very buggy so I'm now using Maverick.

I'm having a lot of problems to make my iMac working smoothly with
Ubuntu. I'm reporting each issue on launchpad and the apple user forum.

Here are the threads I've opened:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1638986
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1638987
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1639129
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1639269
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1639922

I'm still fighting with the mouse and keyboard issues.

The only difference I could appreciate with Natty was that the internal
speakers were almost working without any trick, see:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1638418

Hope it helps.

[Bug 686175] Re: Ubuntu 10.10: Imac 27 i7: kacpid uses 90% of one Core...

2010-12-08 Thread jisaac
Hi Fabio,

I have some more news:
1. I've installed the Fan control update from Mactel PPA:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...0postcount=42
2. See here the first results: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1639922
3. Yersterday I noticed that the kacpid daemon came back to 90% of one Core
although macfanctld was running...
4. I've decided to uninstall macfanctld... then reboot the machine and...

Right now, the kacpid daemon is using 0% of CPU!?

I really don't know what's happening but the temperature issue really
worries me. Do you think this issue is related?

[Bug 686086] Re: Ubuntu 10.10: iMac 27 i7: Internal microphone does not work at all.

2010-12-07 Thread jisaac
Hi Daniel,

I've managed to make my Internal Microphone works partially, more info here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1638986

I've noticed that using the Crack of the Day builds of alsa-driver
there's no need to boost the microphone anymore. But I still have to add
options snd-hda-intel model=mbp55 to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
and it still records only on the right channel!?

I attached the output of alsa-info.sh in this thread too...

Hope it help.

No tearing at all (Desktop experience with or without compiz) but very
low performance when playing videos.

[Bug 572969] [NEW] Color depth issue ATI Radeon HD 4850 with Ubuntu 10.04

2010-05-01 Thread jisaac
Public bug reported:

Full updated 10.04 64bit on a iMac 27 i7.
I have very annoying banding issues. It seems that I'm using a 16bit color
depth but my DefaultDepth is set to 24.

I've attached my /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

Let me know, thanks.

PS: I could not appreciate it on Ubuntu 9.10 until I upgrade to the last

[Bug 151448] Re: Wacom pressure sensitivity lacking under Wine applications.

2009-09-16 Thread jisaac
azathothgr seemed to find a fix for this issue more than one year ago...
I'm using Fedora Core 10 64bits and the pressure of my Wacom still does
not work under Wine 1.1.23.

Should I have to compile Wine with the azathothgr solution or there is a
more user-friendly workaround?

Please let me know,

Regards.

[Bug 35652] Re: minor graphical glitch when dragging icons

2008-08-16 Thread jisaac
Sorry for the delay. I reopen this issue because the defect is still
visible (I'm using 8.04.1).

With the 3D desktop effect disabled:

- It's still happening with Gnome and KDE 3.x
- It's not happening with KDE 4.x
- On Xfce, it's happening only when dropping the icon!?

The Ubuntu artwork team made a pretty nice icon theme but it's a pity
that dragging them we get a glitch effect. The priority of this issue is
probably not high for you but it's opened for 2 years. Furthermore,
please take into account that the priority of the look and feel of other
OS is really high, no doubt.

I can not give you more information (see the screenshots) and I can not
solve this bug but from my point of view we should not close it.

[Bug 90249] logitech usb microphone doesn't work properly

2007-03-06 Thread jisaac
Public bug reported:

I've turned up all the necessary volumes but no way my microphone
doesn't work.

workaround working for me on Edgy (found in an old blog for dapper):

add this code to ~/.asoundrc:

pcm.!default {
type plug
slave.pcm combined
}

pcm.combined {
type asym
playback.pcm playback
capture.pcm hw:1,0
}

pcm.playback {
type dmix
ipc_key 1024
slave {
pcm hw:0,0
period_time 0
period_size 1024
buffer_size 4096
rate 44100
}
bindings {
0 0
1 1
}
}

ctl.dmixer {
type hw
card 0
}

- On Feisty this code is not enough. I'm not able to make my sound
recorder tool working and I get an error when trying to use skype.

- Ekiga and the recording level monitor let me see some activity in
the audio input.

Any idea?
How can I help?

[Bug 90230] Re: gimp: single window screenshot doesn't work

2007-03-06 Thread jisaac
My Feisty is up to date too...

Sorry I did not use the tool correctly. I was trying to make a region
for the screen shot.

If I correctly select a window the screen shot works fine.

But if I click on the desktop background I get the attached picture...
Strange.

[Bug 86846] Re: 7.04 Feisty Herd4: Can not prepare mount points /, /boot, swap during the installation with live cd

2007-02-22 Thread jisaac
Please let me know if you can reproduce this:

1) Boot with the Live CD.
2) Begin the installation process.
3) ---
- Step 1 of 8: Forward.

- Step 2 of 8: English -Forward.

- Step 3 of 8: Select Madrid -Forward.

- Step 4 of 8: Select Spain - Forward.

- Step 5 of 8: Select Manual - Forward.

After this step Edgy let you use gparted to have a look to your
partitions but Feisty does not do it.

Then on the next step Edgy let you prepare the mount points but
Feisty does not do it.

- Step 5 of 8: Select the partition you want to format - Forward.

- Step 7 of 8: Login, password info - Forward (Notice that there
are two Step 5 and there is not Step 6).

Later I'll try to reproduce the installation failure and I'll send you
the /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman files...

[Bug 69360] Re: ubuntu 6.10: firefox 2.0 crashed during a login session

2007-01-06 Thread jisaac
Hello David,

- I'm now using flash 9 beta 2. I don't remember the version of flash I
was using...

- java-common: The latest version.

- I have not installed any extension.

- I had some crashes just after installing Edgy but Firefox seems to be
more stable now (And Edgy in general, I bring it up to date). As far I
remember (The last month) Firefox did not crash.

- I'll install firefox-dbg and let you as soon as possible if I can get
Firefox crashing again doing the same operation.

Regards.
