the numlock still responds. Other keys don't work, there is also no
response to fast-repeat pressing ctrl-alt-delete more than 7 times.

this can be reliably reproduced on this machine, i'm willing to spend
time on it to help find the cause for this bug. My concern is there may
be a security aspect at play with great impact beyond epiphany as it
appears to originate from a webkit bug or a bug close to webkit.

At this point i notice 'some' improvement in that the system freeze is
less accute. Web/Epiphany freezes but now the numlock remains responsive
which was not the case before. I'm not certain what to attribute this
improvement to.

the animated gifs now appear to play well but when video plays (with
sound?) the system still freezes
