[Bug 1186702] Re: WebDAV: LibreOffice does not handle vnd.sun.star.webdav protocol out-of-the-box

2017-01-03 Thread jlord87
I'm on Ubuntu 16.10 with latest libreoffice from official repository and
I'm still dealing with this bug.

Or being honest, to a similar one (?) because I'm dealing with the
handler

vnd.sun.star.webdavs

that i believe is due to the secured protocol used.

Adding the handler according to this bug report solved my problem:

[Bug 91389] Re: Please add support for more than one VPN simultaneously

2016-06-30 Thread jlord87
Possible workaround is to use nmcli to connect to your vpn connections

$ sudo nmcli con up uuid THE-UUI-OF-VPN

Works on Ubuntu 16.04.
Using the applet menu still doesn't allow to connect to more than one VPN
connection

[Bug 1317491] Re: virsh blockcommit hangs at 100%

2014-12-29 Thread jlord87
ok, after a small google search I found this blog

http://kashyapc.com/2014/10/07/libvirt-blockcommit-shorten-disk-image-
chain-by-live-merging-the-current-active-disk-content/

it seems that an upstream version of libvirt will allow libvirt users to
commit back to the first file all the change made to a vm after an
external disk snapshot.

We will probably need to wait for libvirt 1.2.9
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvirt-users/2014-October/msg00071.html

How long will it takes? 16.04? :(
Isn't here anyone able to make an update PPA of libvirt, qemu/kvm?

cheers

Yes, I can confirm that.

I'm sorry you lost time on this bug, I really can't understand what happened.
I thought it was a dependency problem (something like virt-manager doesn't
install virtinst when you select itbut it should), I have checked and this is
not so...

[Bug 1386096] [NEW] Virt-managerbroken after 14.10 upgrade

2014-10-27 Thread jlord87
Public bug reported:

I was using virt-manager on my Ubuntu 14.04 laptop connecting through
ssh to my remote server (running Ubuntu 12.04 and then 14.04) without
any problems.

I upgraded to 14.10 and I started having issues: virt-manager was
connecting to the kvm server without any problems but when I tried to
connect to a remote host it kept asking for the server password.

I uninstalled and reinstalled virt-manager (cleaning my home directoried
files - in order to have a clean installation) but now I'm not even
able to start virt-manager, it gives me this error:

$ virt-manager
Traceback (most recent call last):
File /usr/share/virt-manager/virt-manager, line 34, in module
from virtinst import util as util
ImportError: No module named virtinst

I do really need to fix this problem in order to work, any hints?

thank you

[Bug 1386096] Re: Virt-manager broken after 14.10 upgrade

2014-10-27 Thread jlord87
Problem solved:

I tried again uninstalling anything related to kvm, libvirt  friends;
I then reinstalled virtinst and virt-manager and now it works.

It seems event that purgin and reinstallin everything (deleting old
config files) has fixed the previous problem I was having (virt-manager
asking me the server ssh password again and again).

Hope someone will find this usefull

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected saucy

** Description changed:

If you try to backup and usb pen drive with the (nice) preinstalled tool
udisk the program fails with this error:

Error opening /dev/sdb: Device or resource busy (udisks-error-quark,
  0)

  HOW TO REPRODUCE
  1) insert an usb pen drive
  2) start udisk
  3) select create image disk (not really shure about the english text string)
  4) you will be prompted for the user password, than the program will exit
with the error written above.

  HOW TO FIX
  1) insert the usb pen drive
  2) manual umount it (for me sudo umount /dev/sdb1)
  3) launch udisks (you can obviously umount the drive after launching udisks)
  4) start the create image disk process
  5) it will work.

[Bug 1082861] Re: udisks: Trying to backup an usb flash memory require manual unmounting

2013-08-22 Thread jlord87
The bug is still here in the daily build.
The only difference is that now I'm not even prompted for the user password
(but it may be related to the fact that I'm using a live-usb-pen...)

I'll try to understand how to test with the upstream kernel, but I don't
think It's a kernel related problem.

cheers

[Bug 1082861] [NEW] udisks: Trying to backup an usb flash memory require manual unmounting

2012-11-25 Thread jlord87
Public bug reported:

If you try to backup and usb pen drive with the (nice) preinstalled tool
udisk the program fails with this error:

Error opening /dev/sdb: Device or resource busy (udisks-error-quark,
0)

HOW TO REPRODUCE
1) insert an usb pen drive
2) start udisk
3) select create image disk (not really shure about the english text string)
4) you will be prompted for the user password, than the program will exit with
the error written above.

HOW TO FIX
1) insert the usb pen drive
2) manual umount it (for me sudo umount /dev/sdb1)
3) launch udisks (you can obviously umount the drive after launching udisks)
4) start the create image disk process
5) it will work.

For shure a small bug, but I really believe is that kind of bugs that
negatively influence end-user's experience.
It shouldn't be too hard for some developer to add an umount step to the
script that back up your drive.

have a nice day

Francesco (aka moro)

[Bug 1045522] [NEW] Marvell 88E8055 PCI-E Gigabit lan not connecting to gigabit in network

2012-09-03 Thread jlord87
Public bug reported:

Hi there,

I'm using ubuntu 12.04 32bit on my laptop (samsung q210).

I just bought a gigabit switch, but my laptop is una ble to connect at 1000Mb,
but only at 100.
It connects and disconnects a couple of time and then it just set the network
adapter to 100Mb, instead of 1000.

The hardware works (windows 7 installed in the same laptop is able to
connect at gigabit).

I believe that it could be a bug related to the sky2 driver, but i'm a
noob, so it's just a feeling :)

here some other info:

[Bug 141324] Re: systemsettings-kde: crash when double-clicking printer

2008-04-09 Thread jlord87
I have a similar problem but I'm not shure is related:
if I (single or double, it's the same) click over the printer icon, it freeze
and stop responding (it doesn't crash, but i have to kill it...)

It happens the same thing if I open konqueror, slect address-print: it
freeze.

I'm using kubuntu gutsy, i386 (fresh and updated installation)

[Bug 95383] Re: can't find sata disk kubuntu 7 beta

2007-04-06 Thread jlord87
Hi,
the updater works well...but the disk is still invisible...it's very strange,
because the system works very well; if I connect an usb-pen, for example, the
system automatically mount it, and it is identified as /dev/sda...while using a
past version of kubuntu, ubuntu or xubuntu, edgy or dapper, /dev/sda was my
sata hd...
if you want i could send theoutput to the last apt-get upgrade...

thank you

I don't have now an older version installed, but tonight i'll install an

same command of this attachment.

[Bug 95383] Re: can't find sata disk kubuntu 7 beta

2007-04-02 Thread jlord87
Hi,
ok, proceeding step by step:
I launch the system from the livecd with the option you said (noapic, nolapic,
acpi=off, irqpoll), Gabriel, and saved the output of the command to a file (see
the attachment) and then I've done the same thing booting the system from the
hard disk (pata, the only one recongized).
I tried booting without the option quiet but nothing appeared to be strange...

I checked into the bios for a sata controller page (and being not so
expert i transcribed it into a text file) and the only thing strange,
in my opinion, was that the sataII controller was set to IDE and not to
SATA...i'll try to change it in the next reboot.

The hardware connected to the motherboard is a 30GB PATA HD (primary ide
master), a DVDRW device (connected to the secondary ide master) and a
160GB SATA HD (that is connected to the sataII port);

that's all for now...if you need something more specific, i'll try to be
the best to answer your question.

thanks for your help!

[Bug 95383] Re: can't find sata disk kubuntu 7 beta

2007-04-02 Thread jlord87
HI!!!
now it works!!
It's strange, or probably not, but changing in the bios the section
Advanced-IDE-SATAII Operation Mode from [IDE] to [SATA] solved completly the
problem!!
I was saying that it seems very strange because when I installed the past
version of kubuntu I've never had this problem, so I've never looked into the
bios how was this key setted...
Maybe before the bios update the mode was setted to SATA and not to IDE, and
the bios update, setting the option to the default values changed it into
IDE...i don't know...

now from my console i recive this fantastic output:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls /dev/ | grep sd
ptysd
sda
sda1
sda2
sda3
sda5
sda6
ttysd

Lot of thanks to all for your help, patience and time
francesco

2007-03-29 Thread jlord87
hi everybody!!
I'm very sorry but reading the post of Lor3nzo and trying what he wrote I have
unfortunately discovered that my motherboard is not a 939Dual-Sata2 but a
939Dual-Vsata...I'm very sorry for this mistake!
However I tried to update the bios, from the version 1.20 to the latest 1.30
but nothing has changed.

sorry a lot for the mistake (that I'm going to correct in the first
post)

Hi world!
sorry for the late on writing but sometimes i had to study...
first of all, this is the output of uname -a, as asked by GabrielGrant

$ uname -a
Linux beta 2.6.20-13-generic #2 SMP Sun Mar 25 00:21:25 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

@Codink
...I am not very shure to have understood what you have said...
the problem persists even updating the kernel to the latest version (2.6.20-13)?

yes, i am able to boot into the livecd (now i'm writing using konqueror
from the live cd) and i was able to install this beta in the ide hd
(identified as hda) but ther's no way (i think...) to see the sata
disk that usually, in the stable ubuntu/kubuntu releases, is detected as
sda...

in the attachment you'll find the requested info...

thanks for your time!
