[Bug 1186702] Re: WebDAV: LibreOffice does not handle vnd.sun.star.webdav protocol out-of-the-box
I'm on Ubuntu 16.10 with latest libreoffice from official repository and I'm still dealing with this bug. Or being honest, to a similar one (?) because I'm dealing with the handler vnd.sun.star.webdavs that i believe is due to the secured protocol used. [Bug 1082861] Re: udisks: Trying to backup an usb flash memory require manual unmounting
The bug is still here in the daily build. The only difference is that now I'm not even prompted for the user password (but it may be related to the fact that I'm using a live-usb-pen...) I'll try to understand how to test with the upstream kernel, but I don't think It's a kernel related problem. cheers -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1082861 Title: udisks: Trying to backup an usb flash memory require manual unmounting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udisks/+bug/1082861/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1082861] [NEW] udisks: Trying to backup an usb flash memory require manual unmounting
Public bug reported: If you try to backup and usb pen drive with the (nice) preinstalled tool udisk the program fails with this error: Error opening /dev/sdb: Device or resource busy (udisks-error-quark, 0) HOW TO REPRODUCE 1) insert an usb pen drive 2) start udisk 3) select create image disk (not really shure about the english text string) 4) you will be prompted for the user password, than the program will exit with the error written above. HOW TO FIX 1) insert the usb pen drive 2) manual umount it (for me sudo umount /dev/sdb1) 3) launch udisks (you can obviously umount the drive after launching udisks) 4) start the create image disk process 5) it will work. For shure a small bug, but I really believe is that kind of bugs that negatively influence end-user's experience. It shouldn't be too hard for some developer to add an umount step to the script that back up your drive. have a nice day Francesco (aka moro) ps. $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 12.10 Release:12.10 $ apt-cache policy udisks udisks: Installato: 1.0.4-6 Candidato: 1.0.4-6 Tabella versione: *** 1.0.4-6 0 500 http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: udisks 1.0.4-6 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-19.30-generic 3.5.7 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-19-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu6 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Nov 25 10:55:04 2012 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-11-01 (23 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal - Release amd64 (20121017.5) MachineType: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. [Bug 1045522] [NEW] Marvell 88E8055 PCI-E Gigabit lan not connecting to gigabit in network
Public bug reported: Hi there, I'm using ubuntu 12.04 32bit on my laptop (samsung q210). I just bought a gigabit switch, but my laptop is una ble to connect at 1000Mb, but only at 100. It connects and disconnects a couple of time and then it just set the network adapter to 100Mb, instead of 1000. The hardware works (windows 7 installed in the same laptop is able to connect at gigabit). I believe that it could be a bug related to the sky2 driver, but i'm a noob, so it's just a feeling :) here some other info: $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Release:12.04 $ sudo lshw -c network *-network DISABLED description: Wireless interface product: WiFi Link 5100 vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: pci@:02:00.0 logical name: wlan0 version: 00 serial: 00:21:5d:90:cf:3a width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list ethernet physical wireless configuration: broadcast=yes driver=iwlwifi driverversion=3.2.0-30-generic firmware=8.83.5.1 build 33692 latency=0 link=no multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11abgn resources: irq:45 memory:f600-f6001fff *-network description: Ethernet interface product: 88E8055 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller vendor: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. physical id: 0 bus info: pci@:06:00.0 logical name: eth0 version: 13 serial: 00:13:77:96:25:67 size: 100Mbit/s capacity: 1Gbit/s width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm vpd msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list rom ethernet physical tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt 1000bt-fd autonegotiation configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=sky2 driverversion=1.30 duplex=full firmware=N/A ip=10.0.0.17 latency=0 link=yes multicast=yes port=twisted pair speed=100Mbit/s resources: irq:44 memory:fa00-fa003fff ioport:5000(size=256) memory:f400-f401 $ sudo lspci -k [...] 06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8055 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 13) Subsystem: Samsung Electronics Co Ltd Device c041 Kernel driver in use: sky2 Kernel modules: sky2 $ sudo dmesg [...] [ 87.888410] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both [ 87.888589] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready [ 88.919076] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is down [ 93.063919] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready [ 95.869846] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both [ 95.870022] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready [ 96.421628] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is down [ 101.057861] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready [ 103.576968] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both [ 103.577144] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready [ 104.306731] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is down [ 106.659585] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is up at 100 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both [ 114.000513] eth0: no IPv6 routers present [ 490.512519] eth0: no IPv6 routers present [ 635.673504] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is down [ 640.273511] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready [ 646.973411] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both [ 646.973857] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready [ 647.967248] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is down [ 650.824501] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready [ 650.831460] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready [ 650.831578] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready [ 652.056135] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready [ 654.573705] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both [ 654.574145] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready [ 655.685877] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is down [ 660.070768] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready [ 662.151232] sky2 :06:00.0: eth0: Link is up at 100 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both [ 662.151458] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready [ 672.936075] eth0: no IPv6 routers present [ 818.186345] NMI watchdog enabled, takes one hw-pmu counter. Hi, the updater works well...but the disk is still invisible...it's very strange, because the system works very well; if I connect an usb-pen, for example, the system automatically mount it, and it is identified as /dev/sda...while using a past version of kubuntu, ubuntu or xubuntu, edgy or dapper, /dev/sda was my sata hd... if you want i could send theoutput to the last apt-get upgrade... thank you -- can't find sata disk kubuntu 7 beta https://launchpad.net/bugs/95383 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95383] Re: can't find sata disk kubuntu 7 beta
Hi, ok, proceeding step by step: I launch the system from the livecd with the option you said (noapic, nolapic, acpi=off, irqpoll), Gabriel, and saved the output of the command to a file (see the attachment) and then I've done the same thing booting the system from the hard disk (pata, the only one recongized). I tried booting without the option quiet but nothing appeared to be strange... I checked into the bios for a sata controller page (and being not so expert i transcribed it into a text file) and the only thing strange, in my opinion, was that the sataII controller was set to IDE and not to SATA...i'll try to change it in the next reboot. The hardware connected to the motherboard is a 30GB PATA HD (primary ide master), a DVDRW device (connected to the secondary ide master) and a 160GB SATA HD (that is connected to the sataII port); that's all for now...if you need something more specific, i'll try to be the best to answer your question. thanks for your help! ** Attachment added: some bios info, some ls from the live cd and from the installed system http://librarian.launchpad.net/7101394/BIOS_info-ls%2A.tar.bz2 -- can't find sata disk kubuntu 7 beta https://launchpad.net/bugs/95383 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 95383] Re: can't find sata disk kubuntu 7 beta
HI!!! now it works!! It's strange, or probably not, but changing in the bios the section Advanced-IDE-SATAII Operation Mode from [IDE] to [SATA] solved completly the problem!! I was saying that it seems very strange because when I installed the past version of kubuntu I've never had this problem, so I've never looked into the bios how was this key setted... Maybe before the bios update the mode was setted to SATA and not to IDE, and the bios update, setting the option to the default values changed it into IDE...i don't know... now from my console i recive this fantastic output: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls /dev/ | grep sd ptysd sda sda1 sda2 sda3 sda5 sda6 ttysd Lot of thanks to all for your help, patience and time francesco -- can't find sata disk kubuntu 7 beta https://launchpad.net/bugs/95383 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95383] Re: can't find sata disk kubuntu 7 beta
yes, i am able to boot into the livecd (now i'm writing using konqueror from the live cd) and i was able to install this beta in the ide hd (identified as hda) but ther's no way (i think...) to see the sata disk that usually, in the stable ubuntu/kubuntu releases, is detected as sda... in the attachment you'll find the requested info... thanks for your time! ** Attachment added: dmesg lspci -vv/-vvn output http://librarian.launchpad.net/6929549/bug95383_info.tar -- can't find sata disk kubuntu 7 beta https://launchpad.net/bugs/95383 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
