I had that too... 
boot with CD and mount your harddrive and then remove the network shares from 
the fstab file.

When I'm no at home the IPW2200 process takes 100% CPU usage. What I see
in the kernel log:

This problem appeared somewhere after kernel 2.6.20-12

I just do a quick rmmod ipw2200 and the problem is solved.

I thought I try to create a new file with a graph, but when I hit de
graph symbol I get a dialog where you normaly choose the plot type,
there are no plot types to choose from, maybe this is the problem.

I have 2 files that I use to create a graph and I can't open them
anymore after updating to feisty. I can open other files that are before
the upgrade. I click the file, the computer does something and then it
stops. When I open it from Gnumeric I click on open Gnumeric is gone.

Same problem here I think. When I'm at work I use eth0 using dhcp no
problem at all. When I'm at home I use eht1 which is my wireless device
also using dhcp. Evolution and gaim say that they offline. Gaim I have
to go offline/online to get it working. Evolution just going online.

I have something similar, I use twinscreen at work, at home just my laptop. I 
use a script to set the single monitor that does: 
xrandrmode=1
dac=off
when I'm at home I watch things with totem. My screen settings jump to dual 
monitor and the aspect ratio is changed to extremly wide screen. 
I use totem-xine
