[Bug 433943] Re: kernel boot broken: init: udevtrigger mainprocess (1283) terminated with status 1
The gift that keeps on giving... I would like to pass on my thanks to Angel Guzman Maeso (shakaran) for his advice from 8 years ago! I've just installed 9.10 on an old Compaq SFF (small form factor business PC) and was hit with a non-booting OS after installing updates using the old-releases channel. I followed all the instructions; the only steps that didn't work for me were steps #8 and #9 I had to perform 'chroot /media/karmic sudo dpkg --configure -a' instead of the 'apt-get dist-upgrade/apt-get -f install' which then went off to finish configuring/installing a fairly long list of packages. So once again, thanks Angel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/433943 Title: kernel boot broken: init: udevtrigger mainprocess (1283) terminated with status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/433943/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 444950] Re: sound stops working with pulseaudio
Sam problem here with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and a Soundblaster Audigy card. This problem has been around for a while, and I normally tend to rid myself of pulseaudio and install esound instead. However, this causes problems due to linking with other required apps, so when you choose to uninstall pulseaudio, it complains about several other dependencies. I just ignore it and install esound anyway as my sound just works... I recently rebuilt my system which was running 10.10, and installed 10.04 instead. As per usual, the ratelimit msgs started populating the syslog and I was getting all the old crackling noises as well. Going to install esound again now. I'm amazed at 2 things: 1) Why is pulseaudio set to the default when it still doesn't work properly? And I reiterate that there are several dependencies which deter people from uninstalling it. 2) That it's taken so long and it's still not fixed? Current kernel:Linux vanpersie 2.6.32-27-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Wed Dec 1 23:52:12 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux Soundcard is: 00:0c.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB0400 Audigy2 Value Regards John Goodwin -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/444950 Title: sound stops working with pulseaudio -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 574815] Re: clock 2.30.0 on ubuntu 10.04 amd64 does not update; times on locations do.
Further to my previous comment #16, I rebuilt my PC recently and opted to stick with 10.04 LTS. It's incredibly annoying that I'm still getting hit with this bug. My Skype icon is permanently grey (even though I am onine) and if I click to the left on the separator icon, it brings up my Pidgin IM window - the system knows what should be displayed there, but it's definitely hung. I think my best workaround is either run Alt-F2 killall gnome-panel or simply write a script with a sleep 5 to peform the same when I login each day. It's a bit of a kludge to be honest, but it seems to be the only solution for now. Please get this fixed, as it can't be that hard to have it working as expected? Cheers all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574815 Title: clock 2.30.0 on ubuntu 10.04 amd64 does not update; times on locations do. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 88746] Re: ehci_hcd module causes I/O errors in USB 2.0 devices
I'm STILL affected by this bug, on different media (External HDD powered USB2 drives, and flash drives). This is on Lucid Lynx. TO summarise, I think the frustrations felt by the user community are valid. Looking at the top of this thread reveals the following rather pertinent information and it certainly gives the impression that nothing is being done about it. [Bug 458334] Re: Fails repeatably with DBus error org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.NotFound: The given volume was not found
Ubuntu 9.10 (32 bit) I second ruffneckc's vote for the phedon post earlier. This exactly described my problem, and was the solution that worked for me, for example: sudo mkfs -t vfat /dev/sdb1 Formatted the USB flash drive. Then I was able to select the volume not marked with an exclamation mark, set my size for stored data as 1Gb and away she goes! Thanks for the original poster phedon's contribution. -- Fails repeatably with DBus error org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.NotFound: The given volume was not found https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/458334 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
