[Bug 453647] Re: Ubuntu 9.10 Wireless Connection Intermittently Unresponsive
I have found that switching to use wicd rather than network-manager has improved things greatly. Although, this was in combination of having to log into my wireless router and disabling TKIP and setting it to use AES encryption instead. I think changing the router from TKIP is what really did the trick, but moving to wicd has improved overall stability on top of that. -- Ubuntu 9.10 Wireless Connection Intermittently Unresponsive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/453647 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This is a clip of my syslog showing me disabling the wireless connection then re-enabling it. [Bug 433972] Re: Internet ping very slow on Karmic Koala
Same problem also on Dell e1705. Wireless internet slower than on jaunty and seems to drop out when in Firefox or when downloading updates from repositories. Stays connected, just seems to not be working properly. Same effect on LAN traffic. Worked perfectly under Jaunty and Windows on same machine. Ping is very slow response times even when pinging LAN. [Bug 410948] Re: Volume too loud
The fix by phenest also works for me (Dell Inspiron E1705), however, I must re-do it every time I reboot the computer. The speakers blast loud as possible when logging into Gnome. [Bug 338071] Re: update manager Error failed to fork pty
Same problem, and above fix worked for me as well. Alt+F2 then 'sudo gedit /etc/fstab' then saved it. Alt+F2 then 'sudo mount -a'. [Bug 208806] Re: song names not correctly refreshed
I reported this yesterday to kde bug tracker: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161099 They told me to kick it back over here. This was not happening under gutsy. I can confirm all the same symptoms as Aicardi. NVidia graphics card with Compiz enabled. It does it on regular local tracks and last.fm streams. Version: 1.4.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.9) Installed from:Ubuntu Packages OS:Linux I just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron RC yesterday. Amarok upgraded with it. Now while listening to tracks, the Playing: field in the status bar does not update correctly. It continuously overwrites itself but does not clear the field. Minimizing and restoring Amarok will cause it to refresh. The result of the overwriting is a bunch of garbled text overlayed upon itself. I will attach a screenshot. --- Additional Comment #1 From Jon Comtois 2008-04-21 07:11 --- Created an attachment (id=24468) Screen shot showing Playing: getting overwritten after track changes --- Additional Comment #2 From Jon Comtois 2008-04-21 07:17 --- After additional testing, this seems to happen when amarok is running on another viewport (desktop). If I have the app active and on current display, it does update. This has happened while listening to last.fm stream, not sure if it does it when listening to regular local tracks. --- Additional Comment #3 From Seb Ruiz 2008-04-21 07:48 --- This is a problem with X and associated friends (think nvidia/fglrx), which only seems to be exposed with Hardy. Perhaps you should report downstream to Ubuntu. Not much we can do about this really - so sorry! ** Attachment added: another screenshot http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13772516/amarokplaying.png -- song names not correctly refreshed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208806 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
