[Bug 461489] Re: package wine 1.0.1-0ubuntu8 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 255

I'm having the same problem when installing wine-1.2, but on a fresh
Karmic installation (not upgraded from Jaunty).

[Bug 430811] Re: evince prints files scaled to portrait orientation, despite needing landscape

2009-11-13 Thread kwurzel
It seems to me that upside-down printing (where you can just flip the
paper) is much better than the current situation in karmic-final,
where it just crops half of the page. Do people agree? I'm inclined to
count this as verification-done, if there are new bug reports about
 the remaining issues.

[Bug 480895] Re: Cannot select orientation in printing dialog

2009-11-13 Thread kwurzel
The orientation can be changed in page setup (File-Page Setup).

So, actually, the problem is a wrong preview in the dialog. This has
been reported upstream at
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=526581 more than one year
ago. Maybe we should make some noise there. :-)

[Bug 472400] Re: Printing multiple slides on one pages doesn't keep aspect ratio

2009-11-11 Thread kwurzel
Well, the original ratio problem seems to be fixed, but now the slides
are turned upside down. See the attached PDF and the screenshot of my
print settings.

Another problem is the wrong preview of the page layout, it shows a
landscape page although the final print is a portrait file. But I
presume this is worth another bug report, isn't it?

[Bug 480895] [NEW] Cannot select orientation in printing dialog

2009-11-11 Thread kwurzel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

The orientation select box is grayed out when trying to print (PDF)
files. This may be reasonable for single-paged files, but when printing
two or more pages on one, it would be nice to change from landscape to
portrait mode and vice-versa.

See attached screenshot for an example.

This may relate to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/430811 or

an upstream bug.

[Bug 452815] [NEW] Should use Humanity icon by default

2009-10-16 Thread kwurzel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-randr-applet

gnome-randr-applet uses /usr/share/pixmaps/grandr.png as default icon.
This is just an unrecognizable gray blob. There's a nice icon at
/usr/share/icons/Humanity[,-Dark]/apps/[22,24,48]/gsd-randr.svg which
could be used instead. It's much more identifiable and fit's way better
into the new panel icons.

icon-theme, so feel free to update it!

[Bug 448087] [NEW] should not depend on libempathy, but recommend it

2009-10-10 Thread kwurzel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-session

indicator-session-0.1.7 in Ubuntu Karmic depends on libempathy. However,
I removed Empathy and installed Pidgin instead. So indicator-session had
been removed and there was an error message about the missing applet
after restarting gnome-panel.

I think we should be able to switch users, reboot or hibernate using
this applet without needing to use Empathy. So indicator-session should
be changed to be usable w/o libempathy and recommend it, instead of
depending on it.

[Bug 394737] [NEW] Cannot be installed with firefox-3.5

2009-07-02 Thread kwurzel
Public bug reported:

firefox-3.5 final will be in Jaunty's universe in a few hours.
Currently, I'm testing the build from ubuntu-mozilla-security PPA. When
removing firefox-3.0 and all of it's dependencies (-branding, -gnome-
integration and xulrunner-1.9), ubufox will be removed, too.

But after installing firefox-3.5, ubufox 0.7.0~ubuntu1 cannot be
reinstalled since it depends on firefox-3.0. I think we should be able
to use ubufox with firefox-3.5, too.

BTW: I dont think that this is a duplicate of #347972...

[Bug 125271] Re: Update-notifier/update-manager and Synaptic does not read package Pin:s from /etc/apt/preferences

2009-04-27 Thread kwurzel
But synaptic doesn't allow pinning by repository (a=testing) or by
origin (origin example.com). And using a symlink from
/etc/apt/preferences to /var/lib/synaptic doesn't work either (using my
preferences file from above).

[Bug 125271] Re: Update-notifier/update-manager and Synaptic does not read package Pin:s from /etc/apt/preferences

2009-04-22 Thread kwurzel
This is still valid in Jaunty:

$ cat /etc/apt/preferences
Package: *
Pin: origin ppa.launchpad.net/kees/ppa/ubuntu
Pin-Priority: 990
$ sudo apt-get upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages have been kept back:
  flashplugin-nonfree
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.

update-manager tries to update the package and all of its dependencies.

(Just to clarify: I'm using a custom flash-package for 64bit, but
update-manager wants to install the original including ia32-libs and
nspluginwrapper.)

** Package changed: update-notifier (Ubuntu) = update-manager (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu)
   Status: Invalid = New
