[Bug 282939] Re: gnusound crashes X session immediately on launch (Affects Intrepid, Jaunty, Karmic)

2009-08-23 Thread lhz
hi,

just gave gnusound a try from current jaunty on my hp pavillion tx2650
with an ATI 3200 using the radeon driver: it crashes X just like it
crashes X on my Nvidia equipped PC running 8.10, when called via
gnome.menu ... if someone needs a specific log, just let me know...

[Bug 298579] Re: dvgrab, Error: no camera exists

2008-12-08 Thread lhz
I have experienced the follwoing:

* install dvgrab
* succesfully grab videos from a Canon HV30

* some days later, I got:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo dvgrab -i
[sudo] password for m:
raw1394 - failed to get handle: No such file or directory.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo mknod -m 666 /dev/raw1394 c 171 0
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo dvgrab -i
Error: no camera exists

Somewhere I read about a user who just changed the PCI-plug for the
card. This didn't help here either.

lscpi gives:
