[Bug 473065] Re: package gnome-orca 2.28.1-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade:
I never used that package but all my KDE apps were busted for months until I finally found another bug report telling me to delete some .glob file in my ~/.kde/. -- package gnome-orca 2.28.1-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/473065 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 574047] [NEW] installer had an I/O error after ejecting the cd
Public bug reported: After completing the installation of Ubuntu 10.04 AMD64 on my Fujitsu A6110 laptop it told me that the installation was complete and that I had to restart before i could use my computer. I clicked ok. Within seconds the Live-CD ejected from my laptop and I was dumped to a terminal full of almost identical lines "[ 1891.912721] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 465332" "[ 1891.914024] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 465340" "[ 1891.915452] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 465340" "[ 1891.916997] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 465340" "[ 1891.918407] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 465340" ... ... ... My guess is that it ejected the CD prematurely and attempted to continue reading from it. I was able to restart my computer by reinserting the CD and then pressing enter. I don't think I tried pressing enter before inserting the cd but I did try ctrl-alt-del which did nothing. This occurred with the latest "ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64.iso" Live-CD as of today, 5/2/2010. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- installer had an I/O error after ejecting the cd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574047 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 520857] Re: package samba-common 2:3.4.0-3ubuntu5.4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Just out of curiosity why does knowing about a fix preclude one from applying the fix? What Chuck wrote fixes this error but that should be handled automatically by the package installer script and not have to be done manually by a user. -- package samba-common 2:3.4.0-3ubuntu5.4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/520857 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 367033] Re: amarok missing dependance on "phonon-backend-xine"
Strange, Amarok 1.4x does not allow you to use the gstreamer backend. if you are correct that it can use multiple backend packages, an application that is designed to play music should be installed in such a way that it does indeed play music so the package maintainer should pick a package if multiple are available. I do not know how the package dependency system is set up but maybe in a case like this it would be nice to allow the maintainer to specify a list of recommended backends and the package installer would install the first one in the list if none were installed already. -- amarok missing dependance on "phonon-backend-xine" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367033 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to amarok in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 367033] [NEW] amarok missing dependance on "phonon-backend-xine"
Public bug reported: After doing an update from Intrepid to Jaunty I discovered Amarok 2.0 couldn't play music because of a "device failure" as Amarok put it. To fix this problem all I had to do was install the package "phonon- backend-xine". ** Affects: amarok (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- amarok missing dependance on "phonon-backend-xine" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367033 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 198961] [NEW] forward and back buttons all go to the same site in history
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox Release: ubuntu 7.10 (x64) Package: firefox-bin (x64) Version: 2.0.0.12+2nobinonly+2-0ubuntu0.7.10 Sometimes while using firefox I will click the back button and then click the forward button quickly(half second) and then both buttons stop working. They simply refresh the currently displayed page but act as if they have my full history in the open tab (ie I can click back 3 times if I've visited three pages).
