[Bug 2063229] Re: SATA devices on Alder-Lake S not recognized

2024-05-21 Thread Luciano Rodrigues
Can we please get an update on this issue? No Alder Lake SATA drives is
a big issue, and I know for other kernels this is not an issue, so must
be an Ubuntu driven kernel/modules config

[Bug 2063229] [NEW] SATA devices on Alder-Lake S not recognized

2024-04-23 Thread Luciano Rodrigues
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Jammy (kernel 5.15.0-94) and Ubuntu Noble (kernel 6.8.0-22)
installations and Ubuntu Mantic installed hard drive (kernel
6.5.0-28-generic) are unable to find SATA devices on Alder-Lake S Intel
SATA controller.

Ubuntu Focal and Bionic works just fine. Debian 12 (kernel 6.1.0-18) and
other debian based distros (Mint, Kali, OpenMediaVault, Proxmox) works
just fine.

[Bug 2057713] [NEW] [SRU] ceph 16.2.15

2024-03-12 Thread Luciano Lo Giudice
Public bug reported:

[Impact]
This release fixes several bugs. We would like to make sure all of our users
have access to these improvements.

The update contains the following package updates:

   * ceph 16.2.15

[Test Case]
The following SRU process was followed:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/OpenStackUpdates

In order to avoid regression of existing users, the OpenStack team will
run their continuous integration test against the packages that are in
-proposed. A successful run of all available tests will be required
before the proposed packages can be let into -updates.

The OpenStack team will be in charge of attaching the output summary of
the executed tests. The OpenStack team members will not mark
‘verification-done’ until this has happened.

[Regression Potential]
In order to mitigate the regression potential, the results of the
aforementioned tests will be attached to this bug.

[Bug 1969775] Re: rbd-target-api crashes with `blacklist removal failed`

2022-06-03 Thread Luciano Lo Giudice
The fix proposed in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph-
iscsi/+bug/1883112 provides a partial solution (changing the test to use
bytes instead of strings). However, that in itself is insufficient since
that only helps to avoid TypeError exceptions - An additional fix is
needed so that the messages being checked for inclusion are changed from
`blacklist` to `blocklist` (they could be added instead of removed, to
be safe).

[Bug 1943266] Re: Duplicated ARP responses from ovnmetadata namespaces

2021-10-26 Thread Luciano Lo Giudice
I deployed the openstack-base bundle (adjusted the bridge as in the
reproducer). To check for ARP conflicts, I used the Linux tool arp-scan
on the local interfaces and found no conflicts. I'm marking this as
'verification-done'.

[Bug 1891032] Re: Brightness key freeze screen

2020-08-26 Thread Luciano Hanna El Adji
I can control the brightness (with step up or down) using these
commands:

gdbus call --session --dest org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Power --object-path
/org/gnome/SettingsDaemon/Power --method
org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Power.Screen.StepUp

gdbus call --session --dest org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Power --object-path
/org/gnome/SettingsDaemon/Power --method
org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Power.Screen.StepDown

I was thinking of a workaround that disables the current Fn key program
and I create a script that triggers these commands when I press Fn key
but I don't know how to disable the current trigger

[Bug 1891032] Re: Brightness key freeze screen

2020-08-26 Thread Luciano Hanna El Adji
These 3 cause screen freeze

1. sudo acpidbg -b "e EV5 1 0" ("2 0" for brightness down)
2. sudo acpidbg -b "e \_SB.PCI0.GFX0.BRT6 1 0" ("2 0" for brightness down)
3. sudo acpidbg -b "notify \_SB.PCI0.GFX0.LCD 0x86" (0x86 for brightness down)

And these 2 don't work (tee:
/sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness: Invalid argument)

4. echo 3 | sudo tee /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness
5. echo 6 | sudo tee /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness

I tried 4 and 5 with root (sudo su) and without the "sudo" and returned
the same error...

I will read this wiki about backlight, thank you

Description:

When using the jsvc to start a Java daemon (Omada controller), the
following warning shows on log:

kernel: capability: warning: `jsvc' uses 32-bit capabilities (legacy
support in use)

I managed to download the source code from commons-daemon, compile and
overwrite the jsvc binary. No warnings after that.

Please note that I had to change the Makedefs file as it was not
including the linux native headers by adding -I/usr/lib/jvm/java-11
-openjdk-arm64/include/linux to INCLUDES.

[Bug 1728093] Re: [16.04, ALC3253] Dell Latitude 5289 Combo Jack Does Not Recognize Devices

2020-05-06 Thread Luciano Leveroni
After many hours of tinkering around, I made the headset with microphone
to be fully recognized and working on Dell Latitude 7389! The
combination was to set pin 0x21 to "Headphones" as Jeff metioned using
hdajackretask. Then, setting the ALSA config to model "alc256-asus-mic"
adding "options snd-hda-intel model=alc256-asus-mic" to /etc/modeprobe
/alsa-base.conf. Unfortunately, this brakes the internal mic support,
which was previously working... Hope someone finds a way to make both
things work at the same time.

[Bug 1728093] Re: [16.04, ALC3253] Dell Latitude 5289 Combo Jack Does Not Recognize Devices

2020-05-06 Thread Luciano Leveroni
I can confirm this still occurs in Ubuntu 20.04 on my Dell Latitude 7389 (also
using ALC3253).
On a fresh install, the audio jack does not even recognize when a headset is
connected at all. After following Jeff Conner suggestion on comment #5, it now
recognizes them and sound output works as expected. However, mic of the headset
is NOT working. I've tried a lot of combinations on hdajackretask
unsucessfully. This is really a big issue for me, as headset usage is important
on my daily work. I'm willing to help debbuging or anything to help make it
work.

Thank you!

2019-06-25 Thread avi luciano halevy
" Logan Rathbone 2019-01-27 19:57:00 UTC

In case anyone is searching the web to seek solutions, I'll put on the
record that 4.20.4, with the patch as generated above, along with the
UCM files that have been posted on git at
https://github.com/heikomat/linux/tree/cx2072x/cx2072x_fixes_and_manual/chtcx2072x
- sound is now functioning on my Asus Transformer Mini T103HA.

Shouldn't really matter as I am using an updated but otherwise vanilla
kernel from ftp.kernel.org, but again, for the record, this is under
Slackware Current (live ISO from alienBob 1.3.0.2, 20190117).

Thanks all. I hope these efforts can be merged into mainline Linux and
ALSA, but I'm sure there are reasons above my head as to why they have
not."

Big thanks to Heiko Mathes, Pierre Louis, Takashi Iwai and Pierre
Bossart.

[Bug 1789492] Re: suspending system causes full shutdown

2018-08-28 Thread Luciano Porta
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected bionic

** Description changed:

Whenever I close the lid of my laptop or hit the power button, my PC is
unable to suspend correctly. The system shutdowns with no indication
that it ever enters the suspension state (no blinking power LED) and
when I turn it on again it boots to the BIOS and goes to the GRUB and
  login like nothing happened.

By the way, pm-suspend does works, systemctl suspend (which I think is
  the default) does not.

If I can help with any information let me know, any help will be
  appreciated. Thanks!

not.

[Bug 1767299] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 Installer creates swap partition too small

2018-07-27 Thread Luciano Glavas
Also installed 18.04 with encryption and LVM on my laptop through the
GUI installation. And got ~1GB swap. The process "kswapd0" started take
all my CPU and made my new installed laptop freeze/hang. When the
process swapped/worked no space left on the allocated swap memory area.

Cant really believe that today this bug report is 4 months old and
nothing has happened to prevent others like me to experience this. :)

[Bug 1729674] Re: TB16 dock ethernet corrupts data with hw checksum silently failing

2018-02-27 Thread Luciano
Hi. I'm a user of another distro (gentoo), and found this bug while
googling for a problem I'm having. I'm using a realtek-based USB3 to
RJ45 gigabit adapter. This plugs directly into my laptop (not any sort
of hub as with the DELL hubs above), which is a Toshiba Radius
P20W-C-103, skylake based, with the following controller:

```
00:14.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-LP USB 3.0 xHCI
Controller (rev 21)
```

I am experiencing this on 4.9.79-r1, and also 4.14.22.

When I plug the device in, unless I disable power management on USB hubs
3 and 4, I get errors saying 'root hub lost power or was reset'.
However, if I disable PM using powertop, I get the device to work
seemingly well. But, as soon as I start heavy transfers (in my case
distributed compile), the network device stops responding

The error messages that I'm receiving are very similar to what is posted
above. This is the device coming up:

-I can access to usb in boot menu
(tested in a usb with guadalinex v9. I can use in live mode)
-I can change options in bios and save correctly
(tested with sound beeper option. Changing "disabled" to "enabled", save
changes and exit)

One last thing, I don't update system bios, i use the default bios

[Bug 1577074] Re: [HP Pavilion 15] Intermittent black screens

2017-06-20 Thread Luciano Porta
Good news everyone!

I have been trying the kernel with amd-staging provided by
nukedathlonman and it totally works! The system boots up to a completely
functional environment at full-resolution. I've also tried Team Fortress
2 and Rocket League and it's pretty damn close to Windows performance,
so you can pretty much ditch Windows away now if you want to. I'm so
happy! I've been testing with Ubuntu GNOME 17.04 on a HP Pavilion
17-g133cl notebook. Hopefully, for Ubuntu 17.10 all fixes will be pushed
to stable :) Yey!

By the way, my apologies for spamming a little bit out there. My mouse

Consider yourself lucky, I cannot change my laptop so I'm stucked with

Hello Dan,

Our bridge had a "hiccup" this morning and grabbed the description and
summary from a previously mirrored bug so our apologies. I update the
summary and the actual description is what was displayed in comment #1.
The syslog file is also correct.

** Summary changed:

statement
