[Bug 907802] Re: gnome-session crashes at startup, unable to login

2012-01-04 Thread m0sia
according to the Matthias Clasen [glib developer](in the upstream
bugreport):

Some autostarted application refers to a gsettings schema that does not
exit. You should identify which app that is and file a bug there.

How can i find that application?

probably you can suggest me an easy way to compile glib for ubuntu to hack the
code. Rebuilding glib deb packets from scratch each time I make changes in the
code - its too dificult. I bet there is easy way to hack the glib.

[Bug 823499] [NEW] mdadm failed to autocreate md /dev entries

2011-08-09 Thread m0sia
Public bug reported:

I've just upgraded from 10.11 to 11.04

I have the following mdadm.conf(worked like a charm for 10.11):

DEVICE partitions

CREATE owner=root group=disk mode=0660 auto=yes

HOMEHOST system

MAILADDR root

ARRAY /dev/md0 level=raid1 num-devices=2
UUID=78bab575:75f15162:d7535677:b830ce1f

After upgrade i have the following mdstat:

$ cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [linear] [multipath] [raid0] [raid1] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4]
[raid10]
md0 : inactive md127p1[0](S)
  488383936 blocks

md127 : active (auto-read-only) raid1 sdc[1] sdb[0]
  488386496 blocks [2/2] [UU]
resync=PENDING

unused devices: none

Two get my raid1 up and running i have to do the following:

 $sudo mdadm --stop /dev/md0
 $sudo mdadm --stop /dev/md127
 $sudo mdadm --assemble /dev/md0 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdc1
 $sudo mount /dev/md0 /mnt/raid

cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [linear] [multipath] [raid0] [raid1] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4]
[raid10]
md0 : active raid1 sdb1[0] sdc1[1]
  488383936 blocks [2/2] [UU]

unused devices: none

$ sudo mdadm --detail --scan --verbose
ARRAY /dev/md0 level=raid1 num-devices=2 metadata=0.90
UUID=78bab575:75f15162:d7535677:b830ce1f
   devices=/dev/sdb1,/dev/sdc1

How can I get mdadm autodetection work as expected?

Best regards,
Dmitry

[Bug 823499] Re: mdadm failed to autocreate md /dev entries

2011-08-09 Thread m0sia
It seems i found the root cause of the initial problem: there were a
pair of raid superblocks on each hard drive(ex in both /dev/sdb and
/dev/sdb1). Until 11.04 it somehow worked for me.

Now i've removed the unnecessary raid superblocks and everything works.
sudo mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdb
sudo mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdc

But i still wonder if it is a bug or a feature.

3. ssh to the phone
4. change DBVersion to 4 in the /system/library/lockdown/Checkpoint.xml
5. Generated HashInfo following the link http://ihash.marcansoft.com/
6. copy HashInfo to the folder /var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Device/

[Bug 294972] Re: MASTER: xorg high cpu usage, general system sluggishness

2009-04-13 Thread m0sia
ubuntu 8.10 with nvidia 8400gs graphic card with two screens and xinerama(no
randr extension).
1)i upgraded to 180 drivers
2)added this lines in xorg
Option PixmapCacheSize 100
Option AllowSHMPixmaps 0
3)Run this after X has started:
# nvidia-settings -a InitialPixmapPlacement=2 -a GlyphCache=1
4)added option MigrationHeuristics greedy in xorg.conf

Now firefox is much more responsive, but while using google maps or
simple resizing gnome-terminal Xorg eats cpu around 50-100%.

i attached oprofile report. I think the battlecneck is somewhere in
nvidia drivers, maybe in interface linux kernel(vmlinux) - nvidia
userspace(nvidia_drv.so), which eats most cpu cycles.

[Bug 357687] [NEW] Ubuntu doesn't sleep or suspend if there is connection in FIN_WAIT1 state

2009-04-08 Thread m0sia
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 8.10 with latest updates doesn't sleep or suspend if there is
connection in FIN_WAIT1 state.

For example:
$ netstat -na|grep FIN
tcp0 28 192.168.0.102:39696 74.125.39.83:443FIN_WAIT1
tcp0  1 192.168.0.102:52111 74.125.39.147:80FIN_WAIT1
tcp0 28 192.168.0.102:48775 74.125.39.105:443   FIN_WAIT1
tcp0 28 192.168.0.102:57803 74.125.39.19:443FIN_WAIT1

I want my notebook to sleep or suspend and press button in power off
menu. First screen switched off, after about 10s screen switched on with
gnome locked screen and that all.

After few minutes, when connections from FIN_WAIT1 state are closed
notebook sleeps or suspends without any problem.
