[Bug 823499] Re: mdadm failed to autocreate md /dev entries
It seems i found the root cause of the initial problem: there were a pair of raid superblocks on each hard drive(ex in both /dev/sdb and /dev/sdb1). Until 11.04 it somehow worked for me. Now i've removed the unnecessary raid superblocks and everything works. sudo mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdb sudo mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdc But i still wonder if it is a bug or a feature. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/823499 Title: mdadm failed to autocreate md /dev entries To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mdadm/+bug/823499/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 294972] Re: MASTER: xorg high cpu usage, general system sluggishness
ubuntu 8.10 with nvidia 8400gs graphic card with two screens and xinerama(no randr extension). 1)i upgraded to 180 drivers 2)added this lines in xorg Option PixmapCacheSize 100 Option AllowSHMPixmaps 0 3)Run this after X has started: # nvidia-settings -a InitialPixmapPlacement=2 -a GlyphCache=1 4)added option MigrationHeuristics greedy in xorg.conf Now firefox is much more responsive, but while using google maps or simple resizing gnome-terminal Xorg eats cpu around 50-100%. i attached oprofile report. I think the battlecneck is somewhere in nvidia drivers, maybe in interface linux kernel(vmlinux) - nvidia userspace(nvidia_drv.so), which eats most cpu cycles. ** Attachment added: oprofile http://launchpadlibrarian.net/25342240/oprofile -- MASTER: xorg high cpu usage, general system sluggishness https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294972 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
