[Bug 1168424] Re: Kazam is not listing my microphone(s)

2020-02-06 Thread macias
I just started using kazam on Ubuntu 16.04 and this bugs also shows up
in my system (xps 15 9550)

I have the standard internal microphone, and also connected an USB
logitech H360 headset, which is correctly detected and shows up with
lsusb.

The headset (both microphone and speakers) are working correctly in the
system and I can record with the headphone mic. However in the Kazam
preferences window, only the internal devices are shown. As the initial
poster experienced, kazam is simply not listing the audio device.

[Bug 1521245] Re: Kinect Device keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting every two seconds

2016-07-24 Thread macias
I also have the same problem reported by the OP: I have an original xbox
360 kinect and when connected to a box running Ubuntu 16.04.1 and kernel
4.6.0-040600-generic, it keeps connecting and reconnecting.

The workaround reported by the OP also fixes the problem.

My lsusb output (when the devices are connected):

[Bug 785701] Re: Inkscape freezes at opening

2016-06-25 Thread Javier Macias-Guarasa
Same bug running Ubuntu 16.04 and inkscape 0.91 r13725.

In my case this is due to a file that was in an autofs filesystem that
cannot be mounted.

The two workarounds described above solve the problem (~/.local/share
/recently-used.xbel and setting maxrecentdocuments=0 in
~/.config/inkscape/preferences.xml).

[Bug 1566302] Re: Ubuntu 16.04: Suspend freezes the system after upgrade to linux image 4.4.0-16

2016-04-06 Thread macias
Yes, the issue start happening after update to 4.4.0-16 on 5/04/2016
(morning update). The problem did not happened with 4.4.0-15.

I tested uptream kernels 4.5 and 4.6 and I didn't have the freeze after
suspend. Actually, yesterday night (5/04/2016) there was another ubuntu
update (including kernel update to 4.4.0-17) and I can confirm that the
bug seems to be fixed also for 4.4

I then booted again with the supposedly buggy kernel 4.4.0-16, and I
couldn't replicate the bug, so my guess is that the bug reason was not
actually in the kernel, but due to some other package.

So: the bug seems to be fixed with the ubuntu distribution as of
yesterday night (kernel 4.4.0-16 and whatever additional updated
packages). Also fixed for 4.5 and 4.6.

Thanks for your time and great work!

[Bug 1566302] [NEW] Ubuntu 16.04: Suspend freezes the system after upgrade to linux image 4.4.0-16

2016-04-05 Thread macias
Public bug reported:

I'm using ubuntu 16.04 on a XPS 15 9550.

Suspend/resume worked flawlessly with linux image 4.4.0-15, and after
standard upgrade yesterday (5/04/2016) which installed image 4.4.0-16,
the system freezes when attempting a suspend. I get no response from
the system (nor keyboard, nor screen, nor touchpad), but it gets very
hot, so that it must be running something.

Booting with 4.4.0-15 makes the suspend to work perfectly.

[Bug 1269588] Re: [NFORCE - NVidia CK804, playback] No sound at all

2014-01-28 Thread Scott Macias
What do I do with that Link?
Yes, my MB has green, black, orange and grey jack for 7.1 , pink mic and blue
jack at rear panel.

I looked for volume control and I got Fatal Error: Unable to connect to
PulseAudio: OK
I don't have volume control

Where do I change from Aux to Side?

I think that it all started when I installed and uninstalled Rygel.
rygel - a collection of DLNA/UPnP AV services. When I uninstalled Rygel
it must have erased Pulse Audio.

How do I reinstall all the PulsAudio and GStreamer components?

Thanks

check your installation

No audio.

I did check in sound configuration and I do get test sound out of
speakers.

I uninstalled and installed Rhythmbox and error persists.
No sound from Bandhee ether.

I had installed and uninstalled at some point Rydel. Might be the
problem?

[Bug 1066370] [NEW] Control keeps reopening and sections dont work.

2012-10-13 Thread Christian Macias

I close it and alot of the applications arent opening either. The whole

[Bug 1066147] [NEW] No Unity, and Compiz isnt running correctly

2012-10-12 Thread Christian Macias
Public bug reported:

I know this is related to fglrx driver. My card is a 4500 HD Radeon. The
resolution is incorrect. It is giving me 1280x1024 and i have a 1600x900
monitor. Fully removing the fglrx corrects the problem. It ran perfectly in
12.04 but not in 12.10. When I run fglrxinfo i get
X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such
operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 153 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString)
Serial number of failed request: 12
Current serial number in output stream: 12

Unity does not work at all (no decorators, no side bar, or top bar). and
copmiz isn't working because the program docky reports that it needs to
activate compiz to work correctly.

[Bug 157319] Re: Xlib: extension RANDR missing on display :0.0 while using -nvidia with Xinerama turned on

2011-08-03 Thread Scott Macias
I am using using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with a dual core AMD and Nvidia Video
card

desktop:~$ /usr/games/sol
Xlib: extension RANDR missing on display :0.0.
The program 'sol' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 483 error_code 8 request_code 152 minor_code 5)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
desktop:~$

I am using a NVIDIA card with the latest nvidia restricted driver with
two screens. I so I guess I am using Xinerama

So I go run System - Preferences - Monitors and I get:
Could not get screen information
RANDR extension is not present

If I run:
desktop:~$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log |grep RandR
(==) RandR enabled
(==) RandR enabled

[Bug 439163] Re: HVR-1300 HVR-3000 HVR-4000 broken in kernel

2010-08-24 Thread Horaci Macias
not sure if this is related or not but I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 with the 20100517
fix. The channel scan works fine for me, but for a particular multiplex
whenever I try to watch any channel I get the L_S partial lock.
The same channels work fine in Kaffeine; could somebody please suggest any
steps to troubleshoot this?
Is there any direct recording I can try on the command line to see if the
problem is mythtv-related or something else? It looks like it's only mythtv as
Kaffeine displays the channels without a problem.

[Bug 439163] Re: HVR-1300 HVR-3000 HVR-4000 broken in kernel

2010-08-24 Thread Horaci Macias
sorry, false alarm. Just in case this happens to anybody else, my issue was
that some channels on a specific multiplex (perhaps the whole multiplex?) had
moved to a different multiplex. Mythtv still had the old entries of channels in
mysql even after clearing all channels and doing a full re-scan using
mythtv-setup.
After wiping all entries from the channel table and doing another channel scan,
things are working again now.
I kept thinking it was something related to mythtv tunning but it was just some
confusion due to old channel entries in the database.
