[Bug 1247366] Re: Evolution is missing bogofilter integration

2014-11-19 Thread menner
Evolution has become very very unresponsive since upgrade from 12.04 to
14.04. (I have an old Atom netbook.) And many good mails are classified
as spam now (that didn't happen before). And many spam mails are
classified as good. I'm trying to correct this, but the manual
classification seems not to improve the situation.

After googling today, the reason seems to be that bogofilter is inactive
and spamassasin is active. I can confirm this having a look at
.spamassasin and .bogofilter files age. This is a bad situation, and
complicates everyday work.

[Bug 1315898] Re: Light-Locker not working in Lubuntu 14.04

2014-07-30 Thread menner
light-locker doesn't lock, and light-locker-command --lock doesn't work
either. It gives

(light-locker-command:10250): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_is_object_path:
assertion 'string != NULL' failed
(light-locker-command:10250): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **:
g_dbus_message_new_method_call: assertion 'g_variant_is_object_path (path)'
failed
** (light-locker-command:10250): WARNING **: Couldn't allocate the dbus message

But light-locker is running in background, but not attached to lxsession
 ├─light-locker───2*[{light-locker}]
 ├─lxdm-binary─┬─Xorg
 │ └─lxsession─┬─gpg-agent
 │ ├─lxpanel───3*[{lxpanel}]
 │ ├─openbox───{openbox}
 │ ├─ssh-agent
 │ └─3*[{lxsession}]

Maybe because I am using lxdm in favor of lightdm. The installation used to be
Ubuntu 9.10 netbook edition, then 10.04 Unity, then moved to LXDE, then 12.04,
and now 14.04.

2014-07-27 Thread menner
Solution #32 , appending

 session required pam_loginuid.so
 session required pam_systemd.so

to /etc/pam.d/lxdm

made everything work.
Thanks

[Bug 971462] Re: When HUD is enabled, AltGr/Compose still causes focus stealing from the widget

2013-01-13 Thread menner
The bug is very annoying when I want to enter an e-mail address in
evolution with a german keyboard. On the german keyboard @ is AltGr +
Q key combination, and when I press AltGr for a, evolution looses
focus, then regains focus, then it puts in an address separator, that is
comma blank. So when I enter name@domain, I get name, @domain.

[Bug 658672] Re: nozomi module completly crashes ubuntu after 3G connection is established

2011-05-27 Thread menner
Same problem on Natty 11.04
Same card (Option GT 3G+ EMEA by Vodafone D2)
When card is inserted, the thinkpad x21 trackpoint pointer starts to move for a
while.
Shortly after using the established GPRS/UMTS connection, the notebook freezes.

On a terminal running tail -f /var/log/kern.log I once could see sort of
kernel stack traces. But mostly it just freezes.

again natty with lucid kernel: always when data are transmitted, the
trackpoint is moving up and left. It's stopping when a page is
transmitted fully.

But can't load many pages since transmission stucks. Need to reinsert

[Bug 623322] [NEW] USB Printer doesn't work after upgrade from 10.04 LTS to 10.04.1 LTS

2010-08-24 Thread menner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

Brother DCP-7030 worked fine in 8.04.x and 10.04 via driver package from
Brother. After the upgrade to 10.04.1, USB data transfer is starting but hangs
indefinitely. Printer says: receiving data, but doesn't print. Cups shows
hanging print job.
I deleted the printers in CUPS, deinstalled the brother packages, switched off
the printer, unloaded usblp, restarted cups, and reinstalled everything from
scratch, but that didn't help. I tried several times.
I'm also using a CUPS printer definition with the raw printer driver, and it
behaves the same.
The only error I can see in dmesg is: usbfs: interface 0 claimed by usblp while
'usb' sets config #1
Maybe it's a problem with the CUPS USB backend, or with the USB drivers in the
kernel.

Drivers are brdcp7030lpr-2.0.2-1.i386.deb and
cupswrapperDCP7030-2.0.2-1.i386.deb .
I know, these dirvers are not supported by ubuntu, but since they were working
before the upgrade, it could be an Ubuntu bug.

[Bug 623322] Re: USB Printer doesn't work after upgrade from 10.04 LTS to 10.04.1 LTS

2010-08-24 Thread menner
Sorry, this seems to be a printer hardware problem. The printer doesn't
work on a different PC running Windows XP either. The cause wasn't easy
to detect, since the built in scanner is still working (over the same
USB cable), and the internal copier funciton (without PC support) also
works. Changed the status to INVALID.
