[Bug 1096625] [NEW] automatically running on a exe file not fully downloaded causes all memory consumption
Public bug reported: Whell, downloading a GOG game (obviously for windows, wine is my friend), with nautilus opened, gnome-exe-thumbnailer was eating all memory and cpu resources with an exe.part file (a big exe one). I think that is not really healthy run gnome-exe-thumbnailer until finish the download proccess. Well, killing gnome-thumbnailer doen't work becouse other one is launched; only closing nautilus avoids this (but if you save the file in the desktop and you have the show desktop icons gnome-tweak's option, you are unable to close nautilus and only killing is the solution). Re: [Bug 328531] Re: r350 freeze starting X with radeon driver
I'm sorry. I really think that this crash was caused by radeon driver. I swith between radeon and vesa to check the first one and to start normally and send reports. In other hand, i am not working with that pc and unfortunatly i can't make any probe. 2009/2/27 Bryce Harrington br...@bryceharrington.org Hmm, according to that log you're actually using the vesa driver, not radeon. So I guess you have two bugs - one that radeon is not running, and the other that vesa crashes. Which of the two would you like to focus on in this bug report? I'd encourage filing a second bug about the other issue. For the vesa crash, please collect a full backtrace - see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing for directions. For the failure to boot radeon, we'll need an Xorg.0.log from an attempt at booting that. It should show RADEON in the log. Look in your Xorg.0.log.old. Also, check to see if any of your logs in /var/log/gdm/* have error messages. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- r350 freeze starting X with radeon driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/328531 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Re: [Bug 326862] Re: my ps/2 keyboard isn't recognized randomly
I have started with ubuntu 5.04 livecd several times and always work fine. I don't have now higher versions to try with, but i am sure that 6.04 and also 6.10 works too. The problem starts with 7.04, i think. And it could be not an ubuntu bug, with last fedora also happens. 2009/2/22 ciaran.mooney general.moo...@googlemail.com Hi. Since it has developed recently it could still be a hardware problem. Try using an old version that you know worked. If it works in an older version of a distro then it is a bug, otherwise it could still be a hardware fault. Re: [Bug 326862] Re: my ps/2 keyboard isn't recognized randomly
With older versions of ubuntu (and other linux ones), it works fine. Maybe some change in the keyboard detection or so. I remember that it works well in dapper and fedora 8, suse 10. After that, recently i have launched the newer fedora livecd and fails. In windows never fail. 2009/2/21 ciaran.mooney general.moo...@googlemail.com Hi, Does they keyboard stop working at random times in Windows, or does it work without any problem? Are you sure this is not a hardware problem? It could be the keyboard plug, or the connection to the motherboard. Try another keyboard, and see if that solves the problem.
