[Bug 767031] [NEW] Rhythmbox volume button does not work as expected in party mode
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Normally when you click the volume button situated at the right of the window, it pops-up the volume slider and it adjusts it's position so that (while you are still with the mouse button down) you just move up or down and the volume changes. Example: (1 mouse down over the volume button, then mouse move changes the volume and mouse up closes the volume slider) This is the normal, expected behavior. Problem is that when in party mode, if I do mouse down over the volume button, the volume slider opens but does not receive mouse move events directly to change volume. Instead I have to click a second time over the slider to change volume. So in party mode I have to do click, click, mouse move, click to hide slider. If I do click, mouse move, mouse up: the slider opens, does not change volume on mouse move and closes as expected on mouse up. [Bug 572652] [NEW] Users-admin does not set new user ID on advanced window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools Hello. I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (final) and just created a user test with default settings. Then I tried changing it's user id from 1001 to 999 so that it would not appear at login screen. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I am testing 10.04 beta1 live CD and rhythmbox fails to load magnatune catalog, just sits there and telling Loading magnatune catalog, it does not freezes, but the catalog never comes. I saw on other bugs like this that a mkdir ~/.cache/rhythmbox/magnatune resolved the issue, well in this case it did not change anything. Still fails to load the catalog. I even tried using opendns, thought it could be something wrong with isp, but magnatune page is available in firefox, Also at the same time Ubuntu One music store does not have any problems in loading catalog/playing songs. [Bug 362359] Re: Focus gets stuck to a window - impossible to select other windows
I had to change from gnome to xfce since gnome is unusable. (locks every ~10 mouse clicks) Now on xfce it still happens, but the rate has gone from 10 mouse clicks to maybe 1-2 times a day. Do you think it's possible to reset the mouse position using a shortcut when this happens? something like a command that moves the mouse to a x,y position and resets the drag/drop/click events on the pointer... -- Focus gets stuck to a window - impossible to select other windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362359 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 362359] Re: Focus gets stuck to a window - impossible to select other windows
I can confirm this bug on updated 9.10, even using only the live CD, nothing additional installed. On my system is SO easy to make it happen. Just open any window (terminal for example) and select titlebar to move it a little several times, it will happen on 3rd or 4th time. Also another easy way to loose focus is to alternately click inside the window and on desktop several times (this does not fail, bug happens every time I try it). The solution is to switch to other workspace (ctrl-alt-right) click on desktop then go back to previous desktop, although sometimes it locks completely (mouse moves but no clicks or keyboard clicks anywhere) so I have to kill X in order to use it again The laptop is an Toshiba U500-1EW that has an nvidia 310M (I believe it is not related to graphic card) and it has a multy touch touchpad, at least they say you can zoom in/out with 2 fingers in win7 -- Focus gets stuck to a window - impossible to select other windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362359 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 200449] Re: i8k fan speed values are wrong
Hello again! That was fast, I know but I think I found the solution: it seems that i8k is using a I8K_FAN_MULT=30 multiplicator for the fan speed, but newer motherboards already does that, so if using the gnome sensors applet adjust the sensor value multiplier under it's preferences at 0.033 ( the value comes from 1/30). Now my fan speed is 3005RPM which is a way more trusted value indeed! [Bug 197978] Re: Cracy Tracker HDD access after resume
Well I killed trackerd and when I resume from suspend no longer makes intense use of hdd. The problem is that after 2 or 3 more suspends I get hdd activity again.. Last one last for 10min until finally stopping. I completely uninstalled tracker from my system, rebooted and made some 10-15 sleep/resume with and without compiz activated and everything works great but after that it began again to use the hdd on resume but only one time. Now I think I suspended some 20+ times and only happened one time. For me it's completely random... have no idea why is happening, what uses the hdd on resume but only sometimes... So in my case has nothing to do with tracker. Using atop to track hdd activity per process it does not show which process uses the hdd but in the summary I get 100% use of hdd (see attachment), I think it has to do with the red line starting with PAG | scan..., have no Idea what that means... Why this bug turned invalid? This bug is still in Gusty and right now it tooked 2min to open a image in my .thumbnails/normal folder. as a pdf to me appears without problems, the big problem is when you are editing the file in openoffice. [Bug 78710] Re: slow Eye of GNOME start
I had some time and made another test, this time in Gusty. I repeated the test several times, so the user and sys time are almost constant, no big change between the several tryes. Here you have in one folder only one file, a png file, and in the other folder more that 2000 thumbnails. The real time of course it does not matter, because it has to do with how long I keep the window open. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Desktop/eog test$ cat /etc/issue Ubuntu 7.10 \n \l [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Desktop/eog test$ ls *.png | wc -l 1 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Desktop/eog test$ time eog 0a3fbbafbe0cf0204ed48a54c8766d64.png real0m10.744s user0m0.252s sys 0m0.048s [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Desktop/eog test$ cd /home/mihai007/.thumbnails/normal/ [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/.thumbnails/normal$ ls *.png | wc -l 2298 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/.thumbnails/normal$ time eog 0a3fbbafbe0cf0204ed48a54c8766d64.png real0m13.799s user0m1.756s sys 0m0.080s [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/.thumbnails/normal$ -- slow Eye of GNOME start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/78710 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 78710] Re: slow Eye of GNOME start
Forgot to add the conclusion that is... well yes it's still happening, and the difference in user time is quite big, from 0.25 when only one image file in folder to seconds to 1.75 seconds when more than 2000 files in folder. -- slow Eye of GNOME start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/78710 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 164037] [gutsy] OpenOffice bullets bug
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org While using openoffice i saw that when using bullets there is a grey area around them so that I can see where all bullets are. That's fine. The problem is that when I am not with the cursor over the bullets and I am editing other parts of the document, the grey rectangle does not dissapear! I tested this in OpenOffice from Fedora 7 and the bug does not exists, the grey area only appears when I am with the cursor near one of the bullets. This is how it should be in Ubuntu also. I have some screenshots to show exactly what am I talking about. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [gutsy] OpenOffice bullets bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164037 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 163942] [needs-packaging] jKiwi
Public bug reported: jKiwi is a easy to use virtual makeover and hair styler application mainly for the Linux desktop. The aim of the project is to instantly find out how you would look in hundreds of haircuts, try different lip colors or eye contact lenses and shadows. It was already packed as rpm for OpenSUSE but because I use Ubuntu and the application was build in ubuntu actually I would like to have it in the repositories. It is a java application, works with java 5 or 6 (recomended, it's faster) and needs swt (highly recomended 3.3 version) The licence for the application is GPLv3 The application's link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/jkiwi/ ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: needs-packaging -- [needs-packaging] jKiwi https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/163942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: banshee-official-plugins Hello. [Bug 78710] slow Eye of GNOME start
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eog I consider this a bug or lack of an feature. The problem is that Eye of GNOME 2.14.3 (i have this version but it applies on other versions also) has this feature named Image Collection (View-Image Colection or press F9). This feature by default is not selected in ubuntu and i think that is normal, I don't use it. But the problem is that even if I do not use this feature, every time I want to see an image by double click on it in nautilus, i have to wait until this features scans all folder for images and does whaterver, and only after that i can see the opened image. I sugest you go to nautilus, in a folder that has more than 200 photos (example: ~/.gnome2/banshee/covers or ~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/covers/ or even woese: ~/.thumbnails/normal/ ) and open one small image with eog and see the time it takes to open the image. This is a great problem when I want to see some photos in a folder and i always do double click then close. This delay should created from Image Collection feature should happen only when I activate it. Pleas don't tell me to use other programs or use the Image Collection feature without the need of nautilus or use gThumb or whatever because I hope you can realize that it is ridiculous to wait like 5seconds with cpu on full load to open an 12.4kb (172x72) png image in a folder like that. ** Affects: eog (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- slow Eye of GNOME start https://launchpad.net/bugs/78710 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 34656] Re: AcerAspire1694WLMi keys configuration
i just installed the preview release. it seems that the next/prev song works out of the box, the stop/(play-pause) keys will pause the song but you can't make it play again. the play/pause does not work correctly. so in keyboard shortcuts i had to disable the Pause key and put the play/pause key work with play only. it seems to work correctly now.
