[Bug 1938953] Re: virtualbox-dkms 6.1.16-dfsg-6~ubuntu1.20.04.2: virtualbox kernel module failed to build
I just received update and virtualbox started working! Thanks if someone did something. But I don't understand how the update system works. Since nothing changed in all the sources I know: 1. https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal/virtualbox shows the same stuff. 2. https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox shows the same stuff. 3. Ubuntu Software still shows virtualbox 6.1.16 though now I have 6.1.22. What determined that I received this update? Where to check what and when updates I am supposed to receive? It could be made easier to understand. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1938953 Title: virtualbox-dkms 6.1.16-dfsg-6~ubuntu1.20.04.2: virtualbox kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1938953/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Same error for me. Attached txt. How to fix it? Similar issue was few months ago with virtualbox, but it affected more people and was fixed faster. What is the cause this does not effect everybody? [Bug 1786003] Re: How to install 18.04 in Legacy mode?
Though solved by using a workaround, this was and still is a bug - 18.04 installer do not work on an old computer, which do not have option to choose booting mode. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1786003 Title: How to install 18.04 in Legacy mode? Nope, this workaround does not work either. Installed on another computer successfully (almost), but does not boot on mine. [Bug 1786003] Re: How to install 18.04 in Legacy mode?
Thanks, though your suggestion did not work. [Bug 1786003] [NEW] How to install 18.04 in Legacy mode?
Public bug reported: After installation I get this error: “The ‘grub-efi-amd64-signed’ package failed to install into /target/ . Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot. My computer is old, my bios is very simple and has no option to choose anything mentioning UEFI, secure boot, or any other fancy things. Disk partition table is MBR, partitions are custom made, multiple hdds are connected. Following these instructions does not help https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI The booting screen shows neither black screen with options (UEFI), nor purple screen (Legacy). It shows totally black screen, and then Ubuntu loading logo appears. I had no such problem then installing Ubuntu 13.10, 14.04, 16.04 on the same computer. I tried maybe already 10 times to install in all kinds of ways, no way it works. ** Affects: grub-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1786003 Title: How to install 18.04 in Legacy mode? [Bug 1368647] Re: GPS and location detection not working on Nexus 4
OK, finished testing all the situations with all the channels and all the radios. Final conclusion - GPS works well. Made an instruction how to use GPS on Nexus 4: http://askubuntu.com/a/760031/514318 Issues I described previously was caused by this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/location-service/+bug/1468020 (then more GPS apps are running at the same time) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1368647 Title: GPS and location detection not working on Nexus 4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/location-service/+bug/1368647/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1468020] Re: Two GPS compatible apps conflict and loose GPS
Position does not only freeze as I described in previous message, but if there is other GPS apps running, then uNav app, for example, does not only looses position, but it works very strangely, it is very choppy, and does not know the direction (map swings in many directions constantly), and finally freezes untill the the apps are switched again. But If no other gps apps are running, all working very well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1468020 Title: Two GPS compatible apps conflict and loose GPS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1468020/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1468020] Re: Two GPS compatible apps conflict and loose GPS
I can confirm I experience exactly the same problem as described in #6 comment, and filled a duplicate bug lately #1573140. But I cannot confirm information in other comments #1, #2, because GPS always starts working again if I switch apps, but GPS stops again after a minute and apps have to be switched again and so on. Its exactly as described in #6 comment.
[Bug 1368647] Re: GPS and location detection not working on Nexus 4
Yay, it works finally!:) (Almost) I tried all kinds of posibilities many times, and it works only then: 1. Flashing bq-aquaris.en channel 2. Turn on GPS with Nokia HERE setting. 3. Restart. Tests show, that it works independent of radio version, it can be old or new, does not matter (It always works if 1-2-3 above is done on any channel, and don't work if the opposite). It matters to have /bq-aquaris.en channel installed, because I could not find Nokia HERE setting on '/ubuntu' channel.. Tested with SensorsStatus app and uNAV app, it works. But "sudo test_gps" command only shows empty values... and two "unkown error" at the start. If I disable wi-fi and enable flight mode, gps still recognizes location correctly, so this means that GPS itself must be working. Tried to drive with my finally working GPS today, but signal was very unstable, map choppy, unav was not knowing the direction and all kinds of other problem - mostly loosing signal. I could reacuire signal only by switching apps SensorsStatus -> uNAV, and visa versa, this way signal always reappears but only if I switch those apps, and after a minute, lost again. I'll test more later (weeks). But glad it works just a bit, some more steps and it might be working well! :) Now the questions are why is does not know direction (compass etc.), why test_gps does not work, why maps are so choppy (not smooth) and what causes signal to always dissapear untill I swith apps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1368647 Title: GPS and location detection not working on Nexus 4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/location-service/+bug/1368647/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
