[Bug 300266] [NEW] Touchpad fails to work after a suspend [intrepid]

2008-11-20 Thread mithro
Public bug reported:

When resuming after suspending to RAM my touchpad no longer has support
for tap to click or side of pad scroll bars.

Doing a rmmod psmouse and then modprobe psmouse seems to fix the issue.

[Bug 300269] [NEW] sonypi module should be disabled

2008-11-20 Thread mithro
Public bug reported:

The sonypi module has been depreciated for many years and is replaced by
the sony-laptop module. The sony-laptop module supports all the laptops
supported by sonypi and many more.

The two modules fight over entries in /proc which causes the following
traceback:

[Bug 259789] [NEW] boost-dbg and boost-dbgsyms don't have the complete symbols

2008-08-20 Thread mithro
Public bug reported:

Both the boost-dbg and boost-dbgsyms packages do not ship debug symbols
for the boost libraries. This can make debugging problems with the
system very hard.

This patch enabled building debugging symbols which are then stored in
the boost-dbg package (ready for use by the debugger when needed!). I
assume the dbgsym package will also start working after this patch (but
have no way to confirm it).

[Bug 209457] Re: evolution-data-server gets stuck on a lock

2008-04-01 Thread mithro
This is a long outstanding bug in evolution and/or evolution data
server. It's been around for atleast a year or two and nobody seems to
be looking into it. It is intermitent and almost impossible to
reproduce. As nobody else seems to be doing anything about it I thought
I would try and get the developers more information. I'm trying to do my
best when reporting the bugs, I will attach more information when I am
in a position to try and do so.

However, I'm afraid I don't have time to sit down and work out which
packages (which are hundreds of mb's) need to be installed and then
trying to get a proper backtrace. From what I understand, with this type
of bug (the process getting stuck on a lock) a normal developer would
want to investigate the lock and a core dump provides this ability.

Why are you not able to use the two core dump files to get this
information? They should let a developer invstigate the state of both
applications when the programs are stuck.

[Bug 209457] [NEW] evolution-data-server gets stuck on a lock

2008-03-30 Thread mithro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution-data-server

Occasionally the evolution-data-server seems to get stuck and evolution
will stop being able to display email messages. I have no consitent
method for causing this to happen but it probably happens once or twice
a day. I can kill evolution-data-server and everything starts working
again.

I have attached coredumps from before I killed evolution-data-server and
it appears that both evolution and the dataserver are stuck on a lock.

[Bug 191446] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV

2008-03-24 Thread mithro
If I get this crash again I will re-open the bug and add a new coredump.

On a side note, it might be useful to be a little bit more descriptive
in your templates - IE We where unable to retrace the uploaded files so
are unable to get useful information. or something. It will make the
comments less dismissive and hence people will be more likely to report
bugs in the future.

[Bug 191446] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV

2008-03-22 Thread mithro
If I could reproducable cause the error then I might be able to get you
a better stack trace, I can not however. It just happens occasionally -
once every now and then.

Secondly, the page you linked to does not give information on how to
obtain more information then the apport report already contains. It only
lists how to install debugging symbols (this information can be gained
through the normal retracer). Can you tell me what you actually wanted
me to do?

[Bug 154381] Re: New upstream version 2.20.1

2007-10-19 Thread mithro
These updates are rather important - history support for example is
broken in the current version.

I wasn't sure if upstream wanted the patch as they have gone in a
drastically different method in there current development version.

[Bug 138181] Network Manager's openvpn plugin doesn't respect DHCP's domain setting.

2007-09-07 Thread mithro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager-openvpn

Network Manager's openvpn plugin ignores the DNS Domain setting sent.
This means that it doesn't correctly updated the /etc/resolv.conf when
connecting to a openvpn connection.

[Bug 136719] sqlalchemy reports (not installed) for version

2007-09-02 Thread mithro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: python-sqlalchemy

When you import sqlalchemy the __version__ attribute is filled with
(not installed) instead of the installed version.

In [1]: import sqlalchemy

In [2]: sqlalchemy.__version__
Out[2]: '(not installed)'

It appears that python-setuptools needs to be installed for the version
field to be correctly filled.

[Bug 72049] Re: Modules won't load under python-dbg

2006-12-07 Thread mithro
Then they shouldn't be in a path which the debug version of python finds
them?

You should instead be getting something like
 import testing
Traceback (most recent call last):
File stdin, line 1, in ?
ImportError: No module named testing

instead of the undefined symbol.

None of the modules seem to have a debug version either? apt-get install
python-ctypes-dbg returns no such package and I can't find anything
similar on packages.ubuntu.com.
