[Bug 631182] [NEW] Selection of generated text (by CSS :before) looks wrong
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.5 Please view the attached file and toy with selections by mouse. Notice the CSS :before style. Expected result: consistent behavior of the b's: either always ignore or always select. Actual result: 1. When I drag the mouse slowly, the b's are not selected. 2. When I drag fast, in some arbitrary lines the b's appear selected. 3. When I select a range by: mouse-click (and release); press shift; press keyboard arrows - the b's are not selected. 4. When I select a range by: mouse-click (and release); press shift; mouse-click somewhere else - the b's in the range appear selected. 5. When a selection is active, removing the focus from the Firefox window makes the b's within the range appear selected. However, copying and pasting show that *in all the cases* the b's were not selected. Note: also happens in Firefox 3.6.8 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Sep 6 01:43:23 2010 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 Package: firefox-3.5 3.5.9+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.10.1 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-22.60-generic SourcePackage: firefox-3.5 Uname: Linux 2.6.31-22-generic i686 ** Affects: firefox-3.5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: content css generated selection -- Selection of generated text (by CSS :before) looks wrong https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631182 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 558393] [NEW] Find on XML files doesn't always work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.5 When I view an XML file in Firefox, the Find feature doesn't always find text. It seems to have an invisible cursor from which it searches only forwards, so if it correctly finds some text and then I search for a different piece of text that appears earlier, it doesn't find it. Moving between tabs adds to the problem, for example: 1, open an XML file whose content doesn't contain the string ab. 2. press Ctrl-F and search for ab = not found. 3. open another XML file that contains the string ab. 4. click on Next in the Find toolbar in order to re-trigger the search = it does not find!! Only if I clear the Find textbox and then retype, it will search the from the beginning and find it. Thank you. [Bug 364995] Re: [Dell Inc. Latitude D520] sudden computer crashes
Hello. Sorry for the lack of response. 1. I upgraded to 9.10 seven weeks ago and the bug's frequency decreased to once in two weeks (as opposed to every 3-4 days with 9.4). 2. I also started to use Compiz with medium effects (instead of Metacity with no effects). So although not 100% solved, it's not much of an issue now. I assume it's thanks to the change in the way Ubuntu uses the Intel-card (UXA/EXA), on which I must learn more.. (I only remember that it featured high in the 9.10 change list). If you think that it may be due to the windows manager, I can switch to Metacity again and wait to the freeze... Thanks, Motty -- [Dell Inc. [Bug 303601] Re: REISUB is broken
I worked around it by System-Preferences-Keyboard shortcuts - disable anything that was attached to the PrintScrn key. (on a laptop with PrintScrn SysRq on the same key). This is still very disturbing, because SysRq should have not depended on any application-level settings. Besides, the more gentle ops, like SysRq-H (help), don't show anything within X. Hope for it to work at the next freeze... -- REISUB is broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/303601 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 365210] Re: gnome-display-properties mistakenly requires logout to increase resolution
I agree. If I mistakenly choose a resolution larger than my virtual maximum, it rightfully asks to log out (but without an explanation). Then I cancel the erroneous choice (I don't log out) and choose a setting that fits in the virtual maximum, but the same message keeps showing. Closing rerunning gnome-display-settings solves it. (Which makes this bug the least one, among many more bugs in gnome-display-settings since Jaunty upgrade). -- gnome-display-properties mistakenly requires logout to increase resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/365210 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 364995] [NEW] [Dell Inc. Latitude D520] sudden computer crashes
Public bug reported: Hi. Sorry that I issue a bug without information (you can consider it part of the problem - nothing appears in the log files that seems related to the crashes). Anyway, my laptop crashes every 3-4 days since I upgraded to 9.04 Beta. - The recent cases occurred during a user operation, e.g. dragging a scrollbar. - Most crashes occur in sessions that follow a resume from suspension. - After the crash, the display remains on and the mouse cursor can still move, but the keyboard lights aren't turned on when I press Num/Cups lock. I hope it helps. ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 MachineType: Dell Inc. I found a bug in the user-interface level: When the REAL setting (see gconf-editor /apps/gnome-power-manager/ac_sleep_computer) is 3600 seconds, the graphical applet gnome-power-preferences shows Never! You can either set this key to 0 in gconf-editor, or move the slider in the graphical applet and then return it to the right edge - this sets it correctly.
