[Bug 1721712] Re: Missing: /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Platinum_CA_-_G2.crt

2017-10-06 Thread mrw
According to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=858064 it
has been removed when all 1024-bit root certificates have been removed,
but this certificate is 4096bit, so it is obviously a mistake:

[Bug 1721712] [NEW] Missing: /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Platinum_CA_-_G2.crt

2017-10-06 Thread mrw
Public bug reported:

Version: ca-certificates 20170717~16.04.1

Please add /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Platinum_CA_-
_G2.crt back again as soon as possible.

File /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Platinum_CA_-_G2.crt
is missing in ca-certificates, even though after everything I found it
should be there. AFAIK there is no reason for removing it (and I work
for SwissSign, so I should know if it were so).

apt-file search reports that it should be there

$ apt-file search SwissSign
ca-certificates: /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Gold_CA_-_G2.crt
ca-certificates:
/usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Platinum_CA_-_G2.crt
ca-certificates: /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Silver_CA_-_G2.crt

but in fact it is not:

marc@dev0001:~/svn/websites/plugins$ lsb_release -d
Description:Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS
marc@dev0001:~/svn/websites/plugins$ dpkg -L ca-certificates | grep SwissSign
/usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Gold_CA_-_G2.crt
/usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Silver_CA_-_G2.crt
marc@dev0001:~/svn/websites/plugins$

in both, Ubuntu 14.04 und 16.04:

$ dpkg -S *SwissSign*
ca-certificates: /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Gold_CA_-_G2.crt
ca-certificates: /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Silver_CA_-_G2.crt

→ Platinum is missing!

Install old version:

sudo apt-get install --reinstall ca-certificates=20130906ubuntu2

$ dpkg -S SwissSign
ca-certificates: /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Platinum_CA_-
_G2.crt
ca-certificates: /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Silver_CA_-_G2.crt
ca-certificates: /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/SwissSign_Gold_CA_-_G2.crt

→ Platinum is back again!

[Bug 1352230] [NEW] PKG_CONFIG_PATH in pkg-config-crosswrapper

2014-08-04 Thread mrw
Public bug reported:

I was wondering, why my Jenkins build failed after upgrade to Ubutnu
14.04, now I see that in pkg-config-crosswrapper my variable
PKG_CONFIG_PATH is brutally overwritten.

How am I supposed to set a PKG_CONFIG_PATH in a cross-compile
environment?

IMHO: PKG_CONFIG_PATH must not be overwritten in pkg-config-
crosswrapper.

I now manually edited /usr/share/pkg-config-crosswrapper (added
:${PKG_CONFIG_PATH}) to become:
{{{
#! /bin/sh
# pkg-config wrapper for cross-building
# Sets pkg-config search path to target arch path only.

triplet=`basename $0 | sed -e 's:-pkg-config::'`
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib/${triplet}/pkgconfig:/usr/${triplet}/lib/pkgconfig:${PKG_CONFIG_PATH}
 pkg-config $@
}}}

My jenkins build script is:

{{{ (added :${PKG_CONFIG_PATH})
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=${HOME}/qt-${MINGW}/lib/pkgconfig \
  CPPFLAGS=-I${WORKSPACE}/usr/include \
  LDFLAGS=-L${WORKSPACE}/usr/lib \
  ./configure --prefix=${WORKSPACE}/usr --host=${MINGW}
make all install
}}}

Manually changing a package-provided file is a dirty hack. So do you change
your code or do I have another/better way for providing my additional path?

[Bug 539463] Re: console-setup exited 141

2013-05-22 Thread mrw
The Problem still exists in kUbuntu 13.04!

Try to install with Swiss-German Keyboard (i.e. choose it at boot
screen) and there's a ubi-console-setup failed with exit code 141
after setting the timezone; later (after ignore) the installation
completely fails.

And yes, I just correctly downloaded and burned a 64bit kUbuntu Desktop
13.04 image from kubuntu.org.

Try it!

Install kUbuntu in German (Deutsch) / Swiss German Keyboard (Deusch
Schweiz), selected already at boot.

Second try:

Boot without language/keyboard selection. Start live desktop. Go to
system settings, setup german language and swiss-german keyboard (I
*need* that! ever tried to enter password with another keyboard
layout?!?). Start installer in german (note I always choose encrypted
LVM). Set timezone to Switzerland. This time, I arrive at the keyboard
selection. There is no Deutsch (Schweiz) (German (Switzerland)) only
Austria is represented - why?!? - ok, there's Schweiz (Switzerland), so
I choose it from the combo-box - immediately crashes!

No, I cannot provide you with log files, since I cannot setup a system

2013-04-16 Thread mrw
Yes it works after installing the packages kde-l10n-de kde-l10n-zhcn and
then moving german and chinese to the right. But I still consider this
as a bug: It is not obvious to the user that he has to manually install
his langauges - and it used to work in earlier Ubutnu releases.

First of all: All languages should be presented in the list to the right, but
not all are.
Second: If the user choses a language, the necessary packages should be
installed.

Still open: How can I now configure Chinese input methods (Pinyin)?

[Bug 1013626] Re: systemsettings crashed with ImportError in /usr/share/kde4/apps/language-selector/language-selector.py: No module named LanguageSelector.qt.QtLanguageSelector

2013-01-07 Thread mrw
After upgrade from precise to quantal, laguage setting in KDE in quantal
ist totally broken!!!

I can neither set my language to german nor can I set traditional
chinese as second input method nor can I chose simplified chinese (only
traditional is in list) nor does any kind of language installation work.

I have no more chinese input!!!

Everything related to the language is broken now!

As you see in the attachments, everything is in english instead of
german.

Images:
  - all in english only
  - locale - all english, no language to the right, traditional chinese is
missing
  - added two languages (de/zh_TW)
  - error message after apply
  - even though I executed «sudo apt-get --purge remove language-selector-kde»,
«Systemsprachen» is here but broken
  - crash after clicking  «Input Method»

Sometimes click on «Input Method» opens a completely useless (empty)
dialog.

So please help!!!
I need chinese input!

[Bug 911747] Re: [Feature] Add AuthorizedKeysCommand to OpenSSH

2012-08-15 Thread mrw
«Lobby upstream» means here:
https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1663

Unfortunately there is also no one responsible for it, as it seems and
it hangs around since years, same as here. :-(

I need to get the authorized keys from LDAP, so I need either the LPK-
patch or this AuthorizedKeysCommand-patch.

See also my repository for patched builds:
http://marc.wäckerlin.ch/computer/blog/ssh_and_ldap

LPK patch is also orphaned here: http://code.google.com/p/openssh-lpk

So everything is working, but hanging around for years in the
maintainers bug tracking ... really an awful situation! Praise RedHat
for at least doing something!

[Bug 996954] Re: can't wake up from suspend

2012-05-31 Thread mrw
Workaround:

  sudo apt-get install fglrx

sucessfully installs the ATI-driver, suspend works after reboot.

Don't know why the joggler reports an error; manually use apt-get
install fglrx, then it works fine.

[Bug 971487] [NEW] Hybrid iso image won't mount

2012-04-02 Thread mrw
Public bug reported:

Hybrid ISO CD-ROM devices do not appear in the list of (USB-) media
neither on Ubuntu nor on Kubuntu. The ISO can therefore not be mounted
by the desktopp user, but only by root on the command line.

All the details are described in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/510042

I don't understand, why that bug report has been closed without fixing
the problem?!?

There is a note to open a new bug report, well, here I open a new bug
report for the same problemn, as required by Brad Figg (brad-figg).

My ISO also contains HFS+Joliet+RockRidge (exactly as in the ticket
mentioned before) and is created the same way as specified there for the
same reason, we supported Linux/Mac/Windows, but for two years, we no
longer support Linux only because of this annoying bug!

[Bug 881456] [NEW] CrossCompile for 32bit on 64bit: Missing Links for .so in /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu

2011-10-25 Thread mrw
Public bug reported:

Package: I see this bug e.g. in all libqt4-*:i386 packages that are
installed into /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu in an amd64 installation.

I cross compile for 32bit on a 63bit PC, that's why I install
ia32...-packages.

With oneiric ocelot, libQtCore etc. are no more installed in /usr/lib32,
instead, I find them in /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu. but there ist no
libQtXXX.so file, only libQtXXX.so.4 and libQtXXX.so.4.7.

There should be a link from libQtXXX.so.4 to libQtXXX.so, otherwise the
gcc-linker cannot find the library.

BUGFIX:

I run:

cd /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/
for file in $(find -name '*.so.[0-9]'); do test -e ${file%.[0-9]} || sudo ln -s
$file ${file%.[0-9]}; done

But this should be done automatically, when the package is installed.

[Bug 426027] Re: /dev/disk/by-uuid doesn't exist in karmic kernels

2010-06-21 Thread mrw
Hybrid CD-ROMs still cannot be handled in Lucid Lynx.

Now (in Lucid Lynx) the device appears in the desktop (KDE)
devicemanager, but it still cannot be mounted. The only option that
appears is: copy with k3b

When starting this option, k3b opens, but cannot recognize the CD-
device.

In fact, devicemanager should recognize that there is a hybrid
HFS/iso9660 (joliet/rockridge) CD-ROM, then offer the option: Open
CD_ROM in filemanager, which opens the iso9660/rockridge part (standard
behaviour).

Or it could show options:
  - Open PC-Part (which is iso9660)
 - for Unix (which is rockridge)
- for Windows (which is joliet)
  - Open Mac-Part (which is HFS)

[Bug 426027] Re: /dev/disk/by-uuid doesn't exist in karmic kernels

2010-06-21 Thread mrw
BTW:

What happens behind the desktops devicemanager when a device is inserted?
Where could I add mount options (such as -t iso9660)?
Where is the detection of the filesysem of a plugged-in USB-device?

I've been looking around for docs a long time, but it seems to have
changed several time recently, so where is the magic now in latest
ubuntu (karmic/lucid)?

Because that's most probably the location that must be patched ... and
if I knew where, I probably could help.

[Bug 426027] Re: /dev/disk/by-uuid doesn't exist in karmic kernels

2010-01-26 Thread mrw
If the CD-ROM filesystem contains HFS and Joliet and Rock Ridge
(iso9660), it cannot decide whether it should be mounted as hfs or as
iso9660. In Ubuntu older than Karmic Koala, it used to mount iso9660,
which is exactly the behaviour we expect and wish: Different view on Mac
(HFS), Linux (RockRidge) and Windows (Joliet). We include, exclude and
hide programs so that every systems shows only the part relevant on that
given system, i.e. on windows you see only start.exe, on linux
start.sh, on mac start.app.

The worst thing is, that now the CD-ROM icon does not even show for
user-mount in the KDE/Gnome desktop. Either the user should be able to
mount iso9660 (prefered), or there should be two mount-icons, one with
label Mount CD as Mac HFS Volume and the other with label Mount CD as
Linux Volume.
