Same thing here: Ubuntu 12.10 and a Galaxy Note 2 (N7100)

Hi there!

Kernel 2.6.37.5-generic that has been released today on kernel-ppa fixes
all my issues.

* I can boot without an external monitor and the laptop lcd screen works. Even 
after a reboot.
* I can boot with an external monitor (attached either via VGA cable or a 
docking station) and the laptop detects the external monitor fine (although it 
does not detect it at the correct resolution (monitor is a DELL 24).
Cherry on the top, I tested suspend and resume and it worked.

I have an e6410/i5/intel video card

Looks like I will be able to finally use my laptop.

Could anyone confirm?
