Actually, my phone (a nokia 6610i) can't send files to other phones..i just can
download stuff from telephone to pc, so i can't try what you said.
Anyway, the phone now works with software like wammu and gmobilemedia..but only
if i set the max_baud_rate to 9600and it is s slow!! Have you got any
idea? I'm not sure, but in hardy it seemed to work faster (i'm sure i didn't
anytthing like changing max baud rate)

Are you sure its no an irda-utils, kernel, stb bug?
Have you tried it in jaunty alpha?
I have the same adapter. Worked in hardy AND works in jaunty alpha but
not in intrepid.
Did you tried to recive a file with ircp?
1) plug in the device
2) irattach irda0 -s (or sudo ifconfig irda0 up)
3) ircp -r
4) try to send some files with the phone

Bug description:

on Hardy I was able to use it, now on Intrepid It frezees after I choose
