[Bug 828506] [NEW] ALT-F2 run dialogue returns command not found

2011-08-17 Thread peddy
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 816762 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/816762

Public bug reported:

When pressing alt-F2, if I enter firefox for instance, command not
found is displayed. This happens to all executables, located in /bin as
well as /usr/bin. Entering just r still restarts the shell.

I suspect the PATH is not being taken into account.

If I use full pathnames, e.g. I type in /usr/bin/firefox, the file is
opened in gedit.

I can also type in full names of directories and they are opened.

[Bug 209693] Re: windows have a red glow with Compiz enabled

2008-04-29 Thread peddy
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 186382 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/186382

sorry, I forgot to add the first step:

@Necrolon:   sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/nvidia/libwfb.so.xserver-xorg-core
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/libwfb.so

(creates a symbolic link of some sort)

you can make a backup of the original if you wish

then restart X. You may need to remove /usr/lib/nvidia/libwfb.so before
you can replace it with the symbolic link.

The strange thing is, even though I have the flat-file backend set in CCSM,
editing the gconf settings still affect the Decoration Options.

Good luck, let me know how it goes.

heh fixed for me by opening gconf-editor, and going
apps/compiz/plugins/decoration/allscreens/options and changing
#shadow_colour to #111 and restarting X

:)

how exactly do I use the .diff file to patch it?

I know I need the source and need to use the 'patch' command, but that's

Happening to me for all kinds of websites. However I do not get
gibberish, just a grey box and an empty space sometimes. This seems to
be a big problem, affecting all 64 bit FF users. I hope its resolved
soon.
