[Bug 140892] Re: Usplash breaks suspend/hibernate with vga=
i just upgraded to hardy and it seems it is no longer there. Now it works. :) -- Usplash breaks suspend/hibernate with vga= https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140892 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 140892] Re: Usplash appears to break suspend/hibernate
i'm experiencing the same bug. i just installed uswsuspend 0.8 from source against a 2.6.24 kernel on ubuntu gutsy and i've no problems with s2ram. with s2disk i noticed that the hibernation process works like a charm, but the resume works only if i remove the splash option from grub kernel line. with usplash enabled it stops at a very beginning point and i can do nothing except a hard reboot.. (the system should still be alive because i can toggle the caps lock light.. i have to try with ctrl-alt-del). Though, if i cut the splash option the resume process works fine and quick. i have tried different combinations of vga= earlier but i noticed i can't use them because they mess my usplash theme.. i think i have to try something more. -- Usplash appears to break suspend/hibernate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140892 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 140892] Re: Usplash appears to break suspend/hibernate
i can confirm that ctrl-alt-del works to reboot when usplash hangs, and that vga= combinations don't solve the issue. imho we should look for a way to kill usplash when kernel notices that it's going to resume from hibernation rather then starting the standard boot sequence. at least until there'll be a way to make s2disk and usplash work together (i mean by showing the progress of resume). is there anyone able to add some line into some file that can do this? -- Usplash appears to break suspend/hibernate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140892 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 140892] Re: Usplash appears to break suspend/hibernate
sorry for repeated posts, but i just wanted to say that switching to console (alt+F1) immediately after usplash has loaded allows the system to resume correctly. -- Usplash appears to break suspend/hibernate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140892 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
