[Bug 1173681] Re: AR9285 ath9k not working after updating to ubuntu 13.04 Raring (linux 3.8.0-19-generic)
The new kernel (v3.9-raring) doesn't totally fixed the bug, some times it works, some times it doesn't work. When it works: - the wi-fi led stays off after boot; - the wi-fi led simply doesn't work even if I use Fn-F2 or sudo rfkill block/unblock all, but the interface connects and disconnects form my wi-fi router; - rfkill list shows just one interface: 1: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no When it doesn't work: - the wi-fi led is on after boot; - the wi-fi led turns on and off if I use Fn-F2 key or sudo rfkill block/unblock all; - rfkill shows two interfaces: 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes 1: asus-wlan: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no I'm trying to find why it randomly works, if there's any sequence of restart/shutdown that makes it work. I think the bug is not fixed, and I'm marking it as kernel-bug-exists- upstream ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1173681 Title: AR9285 ath9k not working after updating to ubuntu 13.04 Raring (linux 3.8.0-19-generic) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1173681/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 363783] Re: [i945] TV-out don't work with intel 945GM and Compiz
I've found the problem, it's like Gordon Jin (upstream) said, the problem it's with the virtual resolution when it's equal or higher than 2048. I've tested every thing again in jaunty and Karmic alpha 2, but this time with a sum of resolutions shorter than 2048 (1024x768 + 800x600; 800x600 + 800x600; 1024x768 + 640x480) and I could play films and use the 3D effects of compiz. So, this bug is, more or less, a collateral effect of this bug https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21190 ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #21190 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21190 -- [i945] TV-out don't work with intel 945GM and Compiz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 363783] Re: [i945] TV-out don't work with intel 945GM and Compiz in Jaunty
I've tested the Karmic Alpha 2 Live CD and the white problem is now a black problem. After the S-Video cable attached to my laptop, configured the position of the 2 properly detected monitors in gnome-display- properties, updated automatically the xorg.conf with the respective virtual resolution and , finally, logout and login, the two displays (laptop and TV) were black. It's just possible to see the mouse arrow moving and a thin (1 pixel wide) line of the desktop in the left side of the laptop screen, all the rest of the desktop (laptop and TV) was black. If the option is mirror it works, the laptop changes to 1024x768, like the TV, and it seems the 3D effects are working. I couldn't test the video because there are no VLC in the repos. -- [i945] TV-out don't work with intel 945GM and Compiz in Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 363783] [NEW] TV-out don't work with intel 945GM and Compiz in Jaunty
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System - About Ubuntu. Description:Ubuntu 9.04 (Release Candidate upgraded from Ubuntu 8.10) Release:9.04 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic. xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9 3) What you expected to happen After attached the S-Video cable to my laptop, configured the position of the 2 properly detected monitors in gnome-display-properties, updated automatically the xorg.conf with the respective virtual resolution and , finally, logout and login, I expected to have an expanded dual monitor desktop with my laptop and TV (to see fancy films with my laptop in the TV :P). 4) What happened instead First, I did every thing what I described in point 3, and all I got was a white screen in the TV and in the laptop. If I made alt-tab I also got some little icons, but every thing around was white. Secondly, I manually edited xorg.conf, erased the virtualscreen resolution and booted again without the TV attached. I disabled all the desktop effects and tried every thing again, and, more or less, it worked. The bigest problem is that I can't open any film with this configuration, any video application crash silently when trying to play a film. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- TV-out don't work with intel 945GM and Compiz in Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
