2010-02-04 Thread popinet
Same problem here, please also see:

When will a fix be available? This is a serious problem on a very common
graphics card...

Thanks for your help

[Bug 2958] This bug needs to be reopened for Gutsy

2008-03-27 Thread popinet
The suppression list needs to be updated for the current Gutsy
/lib/ld-2.6.1.so. Currently the default suppressions lists seem to stop
at glibc-2.5:

% ls /usr/lib/valgrind/*.supp

/usr/lib/valgrind/debian-libc6-dbg.supp /usr/lib/valgrind/glibc-2.4.supp
/usr/lib/valgrind/debian.supp/usr/lib/valgrind/glibc-2.5.supp
/usr/lib/valgrind/default.supp /usr/lib/valgrind/python.supp
/usr/lib/valgrind/glibc-2.2.supp /usr/lib/valgrind/xfree-3.supp
/usr/lib/valgrind/glibc-2.3.supp /usr/lib/valgrind/xfree-4.supp

So I still get valgrind warnings from /lib/ld-2.6.1.so.

% valgrind --version
valgrind-3.2.3-Debian

Ubuntu 7.10 current

cheers

[Bug 160103] Re: kernel regression on ASUS L3000D laptop

2007-12-06 Thread popinet
Hi,

I just tried linux-image-2.6.24-1-generic and it seems to work ok on my
asus L3000D. Fan speeds seem to be consistent with CPU
activity/temperature etc...

Any chance of backporting (this kernel | the corresponding fixes) to the
feisty kernels?

cheers

[Bug 160103] kernel regression on ASUS L3000D laptop

2007-11-04 Thread popinet
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.22-14-386

I have an ASUS L3000D laptop. Hardware profile ID is

e3c7368a4b53e63f75ce69ff9325c52e

Everything worked fine until I upgraded to 7.10 (kernel 2.6.22). With
this kernel, everything is sluggish and when the CPU fan starts (even at
low CPU temperature) it never stops (even with CPU temperatures as low
as 30C).

Switching back top kernel 2.6.15 (I didn't try any version between
2.6.15 and 2.6.22) everything is back to normal.

thanks for your help

[Bug 112282] X server hangs on logout when multiple sessions are opened

2007-05-04 Thread popinet
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-sis

After opening several X sessions, login out of any of them causes the X
server to hang. No Ctrl-Alt... keyboard combinations work, it's not
possible to kill the X sever or shutdown the machine properly.

I am running Ubuntu 7.04 on the machine with hardware Ubuntu id:

e3c7368a4b53e63f75ce69ff9325c52e

The device section of my xorg.conf file is:

Section Device
Identifier Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) 65x/M650/740 PCI/AGP
Driver sis
BusID PCI:1:0:0
Option EnableSiSCtrl yes
EndSection
