[Bug 1025553]
Thanks for a fix! I've been experiencing the same issue with Google Chrome on Linux Mint Debian Edition (as well as Ubuntu, but I got tired of Ubuntu), and I've tried the below solution however, at ./configure --prefix=$(pwd) I get the error: checking for a JDK home directory... configure: error: A JDK home directory could not be found. Any idea what the problem could be? Also, this may be stupid, but I'm guessing that when running ./autogen.sh, one should not be in the build dir, which was created, since the file can't be found. Running ../autogen.sh in the build-dir replies with autoreconf: `configure.ac' or `configure.in' is required On Ubuntu it worked fine in Firefox, however in LMDE Firefox crashes altogether. But I suspect another issue there. Regards, Rasmus (In reply to comment #1) Hey, thanks for the bug report! This was a problem I noticed and fixed a while back in the most up to date version. Can you please give http://icedtea.classpath.org/hg/release/icedtea-web-1.2 a try ? Make sure you have mercurial, and go to a folder to build in. to do the following: hg clone http://icedtea.classpath.org/hg/release/icedtea-web-1.2/ cd icedtea-web-1.2 mkdir build cd build ./autogen.sh ../configure --prefix=$(pwd) make install Then backup /usr/lib64/IcedTeaPlugin.so (or whatever the location of your IcedTeaPlugin.so is) and replace it with root folder you chose/icedtea-web-1.2/build/plugin/icedteanp/IcedTeaPlugin.so -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1025553 Title: Plugin fails to load in Chrome To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/icedtea/+bug/1025553/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 561437] [NEW] Lucid wont boot with linux-headers-2.6.32-20
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-headers-2.6.32-20 After updating to linux-headers-2.6.32-20 today (april 12th, 2010), my system refuses to boot into ubuntu. Update Manager promted me with updates including linux-headers-2.6.32-20. I allowed the updates and was later promted with a restart. I waited with this though, because I wanted to finish with some work, so about an hour later I rebooted. This is when the problem began. After I get through GRUB, my laptop hangs. I get no info during the boot, and there is no harddisk activity. The only thing I can do is kill it hard, by pressing the start button. I try again, same thing. Afterwards I try booting with 2.6.32-20-recovery. This time I get some info during the boot, but then it hangs. Again, no harddisk activity. Third time's a charm, so I try booting with 2.6.32-19. This works, and I'm able to boot into a working ubuntu. However I experienced once that ubuntu began to hang, when I tried to shut it down. This I haven't reproduced yet. Now the wierd thing is, if I take out my harddisk at try booting it from USB on another computer, ubuntu boot's perfectly. Even with linux- headers-2.6.32-20. I'm using Ubuntu Lucid 10.04, Development branch apt-cache gives: linux-headers-2.6.32-20: Installeret: 2.6.32-20.29 Kandidat: 2.6.32-20.29 Versionstabel: *** 2.6.32-20.29 0 500 http://dk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status and linux-headers-2.6.32-20-generic: Installeret: 2.6.32-20.29 Kandidat: 2.6.32-20.29 Versionstabel: *** 2.6.32-20.29 0 500 http://dk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status My laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet and its model number is 7767-B8G ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: linux-image-2.6.32-19-generic 2.6.32-19.28 Regression: No Reproducible: No ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-19.28-generic 2.6.32.10+drm33.1 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-19-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: openafs AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21. Yeah, i already did i think this link will do: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=963386 I created this more than a year ago, but it should still be very up to date. [Bug 406865] Re: [GM45] 3D applications fail to run in WINE
Okay, thanks for the explanation, but i can't help but wonder if it isn't possible to make this GMA45 work in ubuntu... I think i already mentioned that i tried to get the 3D working in both 8.10 and 9.04, which has really been a hard pice of work, never succeeded though. If you care for it, you could take a look at the this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=963386 it tells quite a bit about this problem. I just have a question that i'd like to ask. when you edit the HKEY-CURRENTUSER-SOFTWARE-WINE-DIRECT3D-VideoMemorySize should i type 64 mb or 1543 mb? because my GMA 4500 has a lot of dedicated ram, and should the amount be with or without that? -- [GM45] 3D applications fail to run in WINE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406865 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 406865] Re: [GM45] 3D applications fail to run in WINE
Hey there guys. Good comments, read the entire thing through, And i've wondered about those 32 bit libraries for some time. I've had this problem with Guild wars in both ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04. For now i've tried Dungeons and dragons online in wine which gives somewhat same problem, still a bad drawable. Anyway heres my output: X Error of failed request: GLXBadDrawable Major opcode of failed request: 153 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent) Serial number of failed request: 1022 Current serial number in output stream: 1022*** Finished *** This is so annoying. But i guess fedora must have figured something out that the ubuntu team did not, 'cause i remember a schoolmate of mine talking about it being way better with intel graphics. But is it possible, in anyway to make this work, like it should do according sandro mani on the new fedora? Any installable new driver? anything? -- [GM45] 3D applications fail to run in WINE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406865 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
