[Bug 364400] Re: Mobile Broadband Wizard - data incorrect for Virgin Mobile UK

2011-11-24 Thread robin0800
It would appear that with recent Virgin media changes you no longer a need to
specify DNS servers and in fact the ones quoted above are now incorrect.
Please just update or add the APN information

[Bug 818339] Re: UbuntuOne control panel can't retrieve credentials

2011-08-15 Thread robin0800
This appears to be due to missing credentials in passwords and encryption
looking on laptop the login has credentials.
On this desktop apart for the log in folder there are no credentials.
I guess this explains the ubuntuone error message.

[Bug 775829] Re: Tearing when scrolling

2011-05-21 Thread robin0800
Mostly on web pages using Gallium 0.4 on ATI RV350.
This I think is a Gallium driver problem as before release I could blacklist
this driver and the tearing stopped.
( just as a note, since release, I cannot find a way to blacklist this driver.)

This is still a problem even after new kernel updates;
as many other people have said this crash stops unity starting!

For your info compiz wont start in the classic desktop environment
either so it probably is not a unity bug.

2010-07-16 Thread robin0800
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 542814 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/542814

I do think the duplicate status is wrong.
I'm running 10.10 alpha 2 and the X server file versions are higher than the
fix versions as stated in bug #542814. So unless the intention is for me to
downgrade the X server, please split this one from
bug #542814

change or add this info if vdata is also known to be correct. It might

[Bug 352881] Re: indicator-applet crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke()

2009-09-22 Thread robin0800
This bug is still effecting me, but at a guess the culprit is the new revised
Konversation which uses Knotify I believe, to talk to this applet.
So it might be just this combination that causes the crash.

[Bug 424503] Re: Boot fails with Out of Range Pointer error

2009-09-07 Thread robin0800
I too suffer from this bug  my work around as follows;

You can also use an alpha 5 alternate cd

Boot CD

select Rescue System

Make sure you set the correct root .../dev/sda in my case

Follow prompts until you reach Rescue Menu

choose first option Console Window Note this is root no need for sudo

Type nano /etc/default/grub Uncomment the GRUB_TERMINAL=console line
Save file

Type update-grub

Type exit

Choose reboot from Rescue Menu

Public bug reported:

This on ubuntu Karmic alpha4

Plug in a usb stick, right click the resulting desktop icon, choose properties

Watch the task bar, many file browsers get created and then closed

[Bug 421982] Re: Changeing Icon on USB device

2009-08-31 Thread robin0800
Nothing crashes
It is simply I don't think Multiple file browsers need to be automatically
opened perhaps as many as sixty and then automatically closed before the icon
changes
as to what is causing this I don't know

[Bug 387085] Re: when i try to enable compiz, it hangs - karmic koala alpha 2

2009-07-05 Thread robin0800
Recent updates have stopped compiz starting not sure whether its gdm,
compiz,kernal, xorg.ati xorg.radeon or something else?

A clean install of alpha2 is ok and has been Ok until this Friday 03/07/2009
so perhaps not too many updates could be responsible but as I say not a clue
which ones . Graphics card is an ATI Mobility 9600
so no restricted drivers only open source

For your information I'm on Karmic and I think the bug must be in The
Plasma network widget As the solution in the second post says ...

Solution : Downgrading to plasma-widget-
networkmanagement_0.1~svn951801-1

is what clears the bug.
