[Bug 254668] Re: [2.6.27] pausing during boot (several issues)
I attach my dmesg and timer_list. Also, this is not necessarily related to this bug, but IMHO worth noting: after working with the system several hours (programming, mainly keyboard usage) the system _may_ suddenly stop responding to mouse clicks -- mouse movement works, keyboard works, and everything works again after restarting X. Sometimes it works all day. Sometimes I have to restart X11 very often. ** Attachment added: demsg http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17989995/demsg -- [2.6.27] pausing during boot (several issues) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254668 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 272413] Re: [2.6.27] intrepid only boots when key is pressed
Leann, 'noapictimer' was there only for testing purposes. The system behaves the same with or without this option. This is indeed a duplicate of bug 254668 and I'll be posting there. [Bug 272413] [NEW] [2.6.27] intrepid only boots when key is pressed
Public bug reported: My HP dv9000 Notebook (AMD Turion X2) is unable to boot without me pressing any key. Up until kernel version 2.6.26 this worked without trouble. After printing an error message that apparently belongs to Bug #246269 [ 2.412814] uvesafb: Getting VBE info block failed (eax=0x4f00, err=-3) [ 2.412814] uvesafb: vbe_init() failed with -22 [ 2.412814] uvesafb: probe of uvesafb.0 failed with error -22 the system just stops booting until I press a key. I found this behavior to be weird enough to record it on video: http://vimeo.com/1771596 lsb_release -rd: Description:Ubuntu intrepid (development branch) Release:8.10 uname -a: Linux elke 2.6.27-3-generic #1 SMP Wed Sep 10 16:02:00 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [2.6.27] intrepid only boots when key is pressed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272413 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 272413] Re: [2.6.27] intrepid only boots when key is pressed
additional information: 1. Waking the system from suspend to disk mode does NOT trigger this error. 2. On a normal boot, I can stop the boot process AGAIN at any time by just releasing the key, as long as the “kernel event driver” (IIRC) is not loaded. This is about the line I need to have on screen if I safely want to release the key again. -- [2.6.27] intrepid only boots when key is pressed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272413 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

make that “mode_option” instead of “mode” and it works for me, too! thanks. -- Switched from vesafb to uvesafb, but uvesafb can't work without v86d https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/246269 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
