[Bug 2056735] Re: docker.errors.DockerException: Error while fetching server API version: HTTPConnection.request() got an unexpected keyword argument 'chunked'

2024-03-23 Thread romanow
I think this is actually a bug in python3-compose and is related to a
incompatibility of one of the packages.
https://github.com/docker/docker-py/issues/3113 is the issue upstream.

 HI All,

I've solved this problem. It is related to the default configuration of
 evolution and evolution mapi.

This is how I solved the problem(3-step-Instructions).

1)After lanching evolution and setting up the account, click on
''Edit''(On the Main toolbar) and Preferences. Here you have the ''Mail
 Account'' section.

2)Select your account and click the button ''Edit''(Top right-corner of
 the window)

3)Now the ''Identity'' tab should be opened.Check ''Make this my default
 account''.Close Evolution and relaunch it.

 That's it!!!

Repeat the whole operation for any other account which uses the mapi
protocol , and there will be no problem. You need only once (the first
time) to ''make it the default account''.Once everything is set up, you
can define your permanent default account.

[Bug 763155] Re: ubi-usersetup failed with error code 10

2011-04-22 Thread Steve Romanow
I would like to reopen this please. I downloaded OpenSUSE livecd and
installed it in the same fashion (same partitions) with no drama.
Opensuse auto detected the partitions, assigned them the way I did
manually, and installed first time.

I also booted win7 (from sda2) and setup a chkdisk and it found no bad
sectors.

I do think this is a problem with the 11.04 installer and have invested
enough time in this.

[Bug 763155] Re: ntfsresize detected bad sectors but chkdsk does not.

2011-04-22 Thread Steve Romanow
Here is the syslog from the beta1 install. No error 10 and no ntfs
error.

beta1 has ntfsresize 2.0.0, same as beta2.

It seems there is some parallelism, while you answer the dialogs in
ubiquity, some copying and partman actions are occurring on another
thread.

Where to now?

[Bug 534080] [NEW] svg icon for putty

2010-03-07 Thread Steve Romanow
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: putty

Can we package a better icon for putty? I found 2 svg ones on the net.
I am not aware of the license or legalities.

Two that I have seen are:

http://haanstra.eu/putty/
http://tooparannoyed.deviantart.com/art/PuTTY-icon-74659186

Either would be fine with me, or another.

I have manually installed puttytray.svg on my 9.10 UNR, but thought the
right thing would be to file a bug.

This can be assigned to me if you like and I will contact the authours

2010-02-03 Thread Steve Romanow
Could this be a caused by cross domain trusts or dns? In my case, we
have 2 domains and exchange only runs in 1. The workstation I was
testing with was getting dns from domain 2. The dns search suffix
being domain 2 might have done sth to this.

[Bug 320057] Re: Thunderbird hangs for 10secs when auto-completing address

2009-09-22 Thread Steve Romanow
I have two pcap files saved that show a speedy search hit (with no
backspacing), .20 second for the transaction.

the second, in the To field, I typed Step, got a hit on Stephen (which
filled in to the field.). I hit backspace 4 files, and got the pause.

In the pcap, at mark .04, the ldap search came back with 4 results for Step...
At mark 30.18 was an ack from the DC
At mark 50.63 is an LDAP abandonRequest

I'm hesitant to post the pcaps (don't really want them in public record
on LP) but I will share them with a dev.

has attachments, it will work MOST of the time. However, it will fail
with some frequency. I have seen it at least 3 times in ~30 days. I
had my tbird set to Forward Messages As attachments and I just changed
it to Inline to see if it makes a difference.

I have had this happen with pdf's and csv files. The example today was
an email with a csv file attachment that I forwarded without opening
(may be key). I wonder if imap may not be dealing with the attachment
fully unless the mail is opened? The csv file was supposed to have 574
lines in it. My copy in my Inbox did have 574. The attachment in my
Sent Items only had 392 lines.

The smtp server I am usign is the same exchange server that provides me
imap.

[Bug 320057] Re: Thunderbird hangs for 10secs when auto-completing address

2009-09-14 Thread Steve Romanow
Same issue with all ubuntu 9.04 machines I have tried in my office.
Same office, winxp tbird does not have this delay, so it appears to be
sth with the linux implementation.

On the machine I use most often, 64bit 9.04, 4G or ram. Tbird 2.0.0.23.

LDAP address book is coming from win2k domain controller that is local
to this subnet.

This pause is more than 10 seconds in my experience, I see about 30
second delay before I get tbird back.

I have tried adjusting the number of results filter on the advanced tab
of Directory Server Properties in TB with no effect.

I see this problem in 3 instances:

1) When I type in the To: field an address that is not present in the LDAP dir,
at some point, it will stop accepting input and freeze.
2) When I type in teh To: fiald an address that gets say 4 hits based on the
partial string, if I press Tab to go down the list to the 3rd, or use the mouse
to select the third, it will freeze.
3) When I choose Compose, Contacts (and get a sidebar address book) and type in
the Search For field. If I make a typo and try to backspace, it will freeze.
If I do not press backspace and press the blue X to clear the field, no freeze.
If I spell the partial name correctly, then I can double click a selection
with no freeze.

[Bug 320057] Re: Thunderbird hangs for 10secs when auto-completing address

2009-09-14 Thread Steve Romanow
As a test, I installed TB 2.0.0.23 on my Crunchbang Linux netbook.

Similar results, strangely, the pause was not as long.

My desktop is a core2 duo with 4G or ram. the Netbook is a Dell mini9
with 2G of ram.

To trip it up on the netbook I did the following:

In the contact search box, enter Der, got two hits on ldap, backspaced
once (removing the r) and then received 10 second hang where Tbird was
unresponsive.

I wondered if this may be related to my use of Likewise open.

My desktop does use Likewise Open, however, my netbook does not.

[Bug 381288] Re: Character encoding setting saved in config doesn't stick

2009-06-15 Thread Steve Romanow
With the attached debugging output, I did the following in sequence:

 - open putty
 - choose Prelude session
 - log in to aix box via ssh
 - right click and choose Change Settings
 - Choose Translation
 - change remote character set from Use Font Encoding to CP437.
 - choose Session, prelude, Save, Apply
 - quit putty

~/steve/.putty/sessions/Prelude does contain a line: LineCodePage=CP437

Maybe this is a problem on parsing the config on startup instead of a
config saving problem?

[Bug 381288] [NEW] Character encoding setting saved in config doesn't stick

2009-05-28 Thread Steve Romanow
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: putty

I have a session saved to use with my console based ERP app. I need to
use CP437 encoding for the graphics to render correctly.

I use putty .60 on win32 and ubuntu 9.04. I have the dev snapshot
installed so I can get gtk2 version.

When I choose CP437 encoding ans save the session, it saves to the
.putty/sessions/Prelude file, but when I connect, it is overridden
somehow and is set back to Use Font Encoding. Basically, I have to
reset it every time I log in.

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 37239 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/37239

I think you are correct. This bug may still be irrelevant. I think the
problem is /etc/resolv.conf is being overwritten numerous times by NM and
others.
I looked at my resolv.conf settings 15-20 seconds after establishing vpn, and
they are only remote dns, check back a couple of minutes later and it is only
local dns settings.

I hope upstream is aware and understands. I'm about ready to just throw
the 10 or so machines that I vpn to into /etc/hosts and call it a day.

[Bug 162557] Re: pptp vpn regresses after feisty to gutsy upgrade

2007-11-13 Thread Steve Romanow
I think the problem has to do with dns.

I turned off option in NM - Configure VPN - PPP Options - Exclusive
device access, seemed to be better.

I tried with and without Configure VPN - Routing - Peer DNS through
tunnel no change

services that try to resolve by dns fail, but by ip work.

telnetting to ip address works on multiple screens
rdp to name fails (used to work in feisty)
ssh fails do to RSA Key change (man in the middle attack), Think that related
to getting different ip address from vpn service.

This is close to working.
One other issue is the password is never being save in teh keyring. It prompts
me every time for username and password.

Well, I seem to have it working by name and by ip address now. I dont
think any of my changes were necessary, my current config is the same as

Maybe the gconf schema or other config file formatting changed between
7.04 and 7.10 that just took me running through the setup to get it up
to current. No way to know at this point.

The only outstanding issue is the username and password prompting every

I have not tried to patch my own. I can, I will try that. Is there a
-dev package for the restricted-drivers package? I need to see what
package provides cdc-acm.

lsusb shows my device as 22b8:7000 Motorola PCS

The difference could be related to Verizon vs Sprint, I have the Sprint
Version, Linus may have had a Verizon unit. I am using an app on the
phone called Modem Link, which is similar to PDANet, Mobilestream
USBModem. This is the software that comes with the Sprint moto q. I do
not get any dmesg output until I run this app on the phone.

I checked and I do not have cdc-acm.c on my laptop currently. May need
to refine the kernel patch to include both 7000 and 7001

[Bug 37288] Re: Bluetooth not discovered on Dell Inspiron 9400

2007-04-25 Thread Steve Romanow
The initial bug reporter couldn't see the bluetooth adapter in lspci,
i'm almost sure this is some mini-usb connector. I bought my Dell 350
board after buying my e1505, so I installed it. Worked 50-50 with edgy,
same with feisty.

You can see the card with lsusb instead of lspci.

I think the forum thread showing the vista conflict may be spot on. I
have vista home preium on another partition, and noted that my bluetooth
works _more_ at home than it does in the office. But I only boot feisty
at work. I am more apt to reboot from windows without shutting off
laptop and then boot feisty. Which is the methed that supposedly
reports the firmware as 413c:8103. I will do a couple of reboots in a
few minutes and see if the bluetooth usb id changes based on which os is
booted first.

Thanks guys! good work!

[Bug 83235] Re: DHCP IP lease fails (ipw3945)

2007-04-02 Thread Steve Romanow
my issue appears to be resolved by one of the two following actions:
1) a new dhcp client was installed via adept
2) when entering my wep key, i changed the key type in the drop down list to
wep 40/104 bit hex. I did not see that dialog before, so it may have worked
with the older dhcp client.

I am able to connect with my 3945 + wep.

I live in Australia, and there is nobody with a computer in my wireless

difference though... Which version of the dhcp client are you using?

 Merc.

dhcp3-client 3.0.4-12ubuntu4 was installed this afternoon.

I dont think the problem is KNetworkManager, because i tried executing the
dhcp request in the console, and my dhcp server saw the laptop andf
DHCPOFFERed but the laptop never took it.

Man, i upgraded with adept. Iwish adept logged to /var/log like dpkg and
aptitude. may file a bug.

Cheers,
Slestak

 Hi,

 I have dhcp3-client 3.0.4-12ubuntu3 - where did you get dhcp3-client
 3.0.4-12ubuntu4 from?

 Merc.

It was offered up by the repos I check. Using ftp.gtlib.gatech.edu repos for
my feisty upgrades. Looked in adept, couldnt tell what section, probably
security, maybe.
