I also experience this bug. mount.ntfs will consume 100% CPU (resulting in OS freezing temporarily until whatever process completes). It's usually triggered by untarring large tarballs, or downloading large files to the NTFS partition, moving large files. I'm on 12.04 installed via Wubi from Windows 7. I've tried a variety of the suggestions presented in the comments and on other sites. I've given up now and I'm reinstalling Ubuntu on ext4. In 11.04 problem still here. I solved this problem as follows: sudo nano /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/DSL (name of my connection) go to section [ppp] and see what mtu = 1492. After changing of this value all good. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: leafpad When I save a txt file during a sftp session over nautilus, there is a piece of text that is always truncated. It seems like it happens only with this txt file (see the attached file).
