[Bug 1970865] [NEW] Kernel panic on sleep

2022-04-29 Thread Satya Teja Tanuku
Public bug reported:

When I keep my laptop in sleep (super + L) or close its lid, the moment
I open it i see a kernel panic which doesn't end. The only option I
would have is to shutdown and lose all my unsaved work. What should I
do?

[Bug 1773959] Re: High CPU usage by gnome-shell when only running gnome-terminal

2019-04-24 Thread Satya
I see same behaviour. recvmsg() with EAGAIN failures (lot!!). CPU
utilization is not very high for me. Like around 3% but constant usage.
I could see difference in battery life. Switched back to unity for now.

I see the status as "Fix released". Which ubuntu version has the fix?

Or is it possible to get the fix for 18.04 too (via gnome-shell
update?)?

[Bug 1171165] [NEW] ubuntu unable to detect webcams connected with 10meter usb extension while CentOS can!

2013-04-21 Thread satya gowtham
Public bug reported:

I have a dual boot ubuntu 12.04 lts and CentOS 6.2 minimal computer. I
am connecting a usb webcam with 10 meter usb extension cable. CentOS was
able to recognize the webcam as /dev/video0 while ubuntu was unable to
recognize it as /dev/video0.

But both are able to recognize webcam when connected directly with out
extension cable.

Is there a problem with ubuntu's usb host controller driver or webcam
driver?

[Bug 151977] Re: Touchpad not detected

2009-04-01 Thread Satya
Hi Pablo,

Can you please check if tpconfig detects your touchpad?
sudo apt-get install tpconfig
sudo tpconfig

It should print something like found synaptics/Alps touchpad.

check if your kernel detects your touchpad

dmesg |grep input - lists all input devices detected , see if there is
something with alps or synaptic

If you can't see any alps or synaptic in the dmesg output, it needs a
kernel fix and will be very hard to do that.

You will need to report a proper bug reprot with all the information
needed and hope they answer you...

Hi Teej,

I face this issue even in intrepid, but those additional flags solve the
problem. I have got new DELL laptop and I will not be using the old
connoi laptop anymore.

I have some new issues with DELL laptop

about :)

Since the old connoi laptop is not so a famous brand, You can go ahead

I am also facing the same problem on my DELL PRECISION M4300 (ubuntu

bug(thanks to google ..)

alteast I am happy that there is workaround (ctrl+alt+f1 and
ctrl+alt+f7).. Until now I had no other option than logout and login..
:(

Also since I know the root cause , I might try to avoid it :(

But please release the patch ASAP. If there is one and if it doesn't
cause other new problems, please point me to it.

[Bug 273834] [NEW] Wish: use recoll as default search tool instead of tracker

2008-09-23 Thread Satya Mishra
Public bug reported:

Tracker/Beagle continue to be resource-hogging buggy programs. Recoll on

[Bug 151977] Re: Touchpad not detected

2007-10-16 Thread Satya
Finally My problem was fixed.. I read the following in ubuntu forums.
But I want the ubuntu team to fix it and patch it if possible else
Document in the steps for touchpad detection section.

The solution I used is:
Hi All,

I've finally got my Alps touchpad working on my Fujitsu 6120 laptop
(albeit on PCLinuxOS 2007). My problem originated from the fact that
Linux (Ubuntu Fiesty) refused to detect my Alps touchpad device
correctly and was detecting it as a PS/2 Mouse.

I was able to fix this by editing my /boot/grub/menu.lst entry for my
installation by tagging i8042.reset i8042.nomux to the end of the kernel
entry. Thus my main boot entry in my menu.lst file now looks like this:

title linux
kernel (hd0,0)/vmlinuz BOOT_IMAGE=linux root=/dev/sda5 acpi=on splash=silent
vga=788 i8042.reset i8042.nomux
initrd (hd0,0)/initrd.img

This is an entry for a PCLinuxOS install, but the principle should be
the same for Ubuntu (i.e. add the i8042.reset i8042.nomux parameters to
the kernel boot options).

This works on the Intel i8042 keyboard/mouse driver.

After getting the OS to recognise the Alps device, it's a simple case of
configuring your xorg.conf file with the correct entries for synaptics.
Further details for doing so can be found at
http://web.telia.com/~u89404340/touchpad/

Regards,
Mark

[Bug 94193] Re: wpa_supplicant fails to authenticate

2007-03-24 Thread Satya Mishra
After a few days of watching the logs, I haven't been able to ascertain
the cause yet. The fact that it worked flawlessly with my friends WPA
router seems to suggest that ndiswrapper and wpasupplicant work as they
should.

In the meanwhile, I have managed to keep going by using wpa_supplicant
and dhclient3 manually. wpa_suppliant keeps trying to connect until it
succeeds (which it eventually does) unlike NetworkManager, which gives
up after a fairly short timeout.

[Bug 94193] wpa_supplicant fails to authenticate

2007-03-20 Thread Satya Mishra
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wpasupplicant

I am using ndiswrapper driver for a Dell Latitude D620 with a Broadcom
Wireless card. Initially, wpa seemed to work fine, but since about Mar
14, it has a lot of trouble connecting to my Actiontec GT701-WG DSL
modem/wifi router. It seemed to work ok on my friends network using a
Netgear router.

Most of the times wpa_gui shows authentication with 00:00:00:00...
timed out. Sometimes it gets as far as 4WAY_HANDSHAKE and then
disconnects.

Sorry if the terms above are not accurate, I had to boot into Windows to
connect to the network and can't get to the logs right now.
