[Bug 512240] Re: OpenOffice Base (3.1.1 Ubuntu 9.10) hangs while connecting to MySQL tables (ODBC)
Hi, in Karmic I found out the workaround of using the native OOo ODBC driver to conncect to the MySQL tables and that solved part of the problem. The remaining part (not solved for me) in Karmic was that DB navigation inside OObase led to any sort of query error and seeming loss of data (for instance, it said that a field was empty while it was actually containing data as one could verify through a simple command line query). in Lucid all problems are gone for me but I still have to use the native OOo ODBC driver, the one coming from MySQL is not working even in Lucid and cause OO to freeze as soon as it attempts to retrieve tables. At least this is the situation for me; I've tried on 3 different Lucid installations here in office and the issues are the same. I'm here if you need some more informations or elucidations. [Bug 512240] [NEW] OpenOffice Base (3.1.1 Ubuntu 9.10) hangs while connecting to MySQL tables (ODBC)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org I've just switched my system from 9.4 to 9.10 and I'm not able to connect to my SQL tables in OpenOffice via the ODBC subsystem: I open the odb document, test the connection and everything is fine, it asks correctly for the password and connects flawlessly; I switch to the Tables tab and it displays correctly the tables contained inside the database, BUT, when I try to open a table it freezes, CPU goes 100% and I have to kill the program. Needless to say that I cannot use any of the format I use to organize my database data. Any help is appreciated, thank you. Hello, I guess I've come across this bug too. I have a Canon LBP5000 working with the original Canon CAPT driver, version 1.6 (always worked like a charm with Intrepid); after the upgrade to Jaunty it can still print the test page correctly but printing from any other program (I tried at least Acroread, Gnome Doc Viewer and Firefox) fails with the error mentioned above: GPL Ghostscript 8.64: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1 Is there a workaround to resume printing until a final fix comes out? [Bug 366830] [NEW] GTK2 widgets unresponsive on 9.04 (system unusable)
Public bug reported: Hello, I upgraded my system from 8.10 to 9.04 and after that I couldn't use it anymore. All GTK2 widgets (buttons, scrollbars etc.) are unresponsive, they display correctly but don't respond to mouse events; they work fine when activated by keys, though. During upgrade I had an error on the linux-restricted-modules package, the upgrade process completed successfully, though. Thinking I had some trouble upgrading, I backuped all the data and started a fresh installation from scratch: no way, installer widgets are also messed up and couldn't go after the language selection step. I removed all the proprietary nvidia driver in order to see if that was the cause but symptoms persist with free drivers too. [Bug 222322] Re: IDE hard drives not visible
Hi Don, If found out that I also had the longest tail of the IDE cable attached to the CDROM and not to the MB but, unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem (I also switched to a brand new IDE cable, just to be sure, since the old one was pretty twisted and deformed). My setup is quite simple: just the CDROM as primary master, there are no other devices, the second bus is empty. I tried to connect the CDROM both to the middle and to the end connector but no way. BIOS recongnize correctly the device as primary master and the kernel detects a scsi-emulated cdrom, loads the proper devices /dev/sr0 and /dev/scd0 but NOT the standard /dev/hda. For the rest of the operating system the cdrom simply doesn't exist and forceing apps to use /dev/sr0 just hangs them. This bug is really annoying, if it's kernel-related stuff, I hope a new patched kernel will be added to repositories as soon as possible. -- IDE hard drives not visible https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222322 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

When I plug in my IPOD classic, an icon correctly pops up in nautilus resources and device is mounted. If I try to eject the device from nautilus or other apps like gtkpod it fails with a subtle Unable to eject. error message. If I use $ eject /dev/sda1 from the command line, it works correctly. Mount/Umount from nautilus works as expected. [Bug 19423] Re: error message when I umount my Ipod on Nautilus
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 11517 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/11517 I'm experiencing this annoying bug too. The error message I got is a more cryptic Unable to eject. from Nautilus, but when I eject it from the command line it works like a charm. I'm using the last Hardy beta (update of just a couple of minutes before this post). -- error message when I umount my Ipod on Nautilus https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/19423 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 152937] bounding box not working (option -B)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ps2eps After upgrading from feisty to gutsy (ps2eps 1.58 - 1.64) the program doesn't manage bounding boxes correctly anymore; with 1.58, ps2eps -B sample.ps used to crop the .ps exactly at the image boundaries, with 1.64 the resulting .eps cuts the image, messing up the correct boundaries. Downgrading to 1.58 fixes the problem, so it is hopefully a ps2eps problem only. ** Affects: ps2eps (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- bounding box not working (option -B) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152937 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 24430] Re: connect to server feature don't manage NFS shares
I have the same problem and, for what I've found out, it is related to NFS protocol not being supported by current version of gnomevfs2. I read somewhere that NFS got dropped switching from gnomevfs to gnomevfs2 and that support is now available only through a patch. I think ubuntu package lacks that patch. This is really annoying since it forces user to browse NFS shares in nautilus via fstab and you have to change it by hand if you connect your laptop to different LANs. I think NFS support should be enable back again in feisty in order to surf Unix networks in nautilus like we can actually surf SMB shares at the time. -- connect to server feature don't manage NFS shares https://launchpad.net/bugs/24430 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 54776] Re: [Edgy] font hinting does not work with libfreetype6 v. 2.2.1
for what I've seen this bug is definitely worse for people who don't use antialiasing (like me), it seems that antialiasing smooth it someway out... -- [Edgy] font hinting does not work with libfreetype6 v. 2.2.1 https://launchpad.net/bugs/54776 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
