[Bug 502309] [NEW] gnome panel appears over fullscreen windows when changing viewport

2010-01-02 Thread smif1984
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Fresh Karmic Koala install.
Compiz version is 0.8.4-0ubuntu2.1

+

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1) open a terminal in viewport 1, press f11 to make it full screen;

2) switch to viewport 2, open any another app, e.g. another terminal;

3) switch back to viewport 1.

Expected behaviour: The terminal in vp 1 should be fullscreen, with nothing
above it.
Actual behaviour: The gnome-panels appears over the (fullscreen) terminal.

This behaviour occurs for every kind of app, not only for gnome-terminal.
This behaviour does not appear with metacity.

Cheers,

Davide

The --enable-fortran flag should be added to the configure section of

+1 on Michael note.
I have a lot of banshee notification popping out somewhere in the middle of
the screen. I'm sorry, but IMO I don't see any reason for this new behaviour.

[Bug 274577] Re: Various programs fail to start with Assertion 's' failed at pulse/stream.c:971, function pa_stream_drain(). Aborting.

2009-03-08 Thread smif1984
The solution to this problem was this:
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-931607.html

Basically the login sound prevented pulseaudio to start correctly at login.
To fix this go to: System admin login window accessibility and toggle
off the login successfull sound

But now i don't have any login sound, and i cannot set it in the sound
preferences..

[Bug 292263] Re: Xorg crashes on intrepid ibex and restarts

2008-12-09 Thread smif1984
Hi, I've tried to collect a backtrace but, as Kevin experienced, when i
typed gdb attach pid# my system froze. Music in background continued
playing but i'm unable to do anything. Power off button the only
solution. Still the most annoying bug in intrepid.

Regards,

Davide

[Bug 292263] [NEW] Xorg crashes on intrepid ibex and restarts

2008-11-01 Thread smif1984
Public bug reported:

I've upgraded from hardy to intrepid last week. Now xorg randomly
crashes and restarts to the login prompt. Compiz is enabled as before
with Option AccelMethod EXA to avoid crashes, as suggested in
a bug report here in launchpad. I have an ati x700. I've attached
Xorg.0.log.old, xorg.conf and output of lspci -v.

Please ask for additional details if needed.

Cheers

[Bug 287456] [NEW] the applet does not change viewport when compiz is on

2008-10-22 Thread smif1984
Public bug reported:

Hi,
I'm on ubuntu intrepid now and i noticed that the window-picker-applet doesn't
change workspace automatically when selecting an application in another
viewport, if compiz is on, but it works with metacity. I prefer the applet to
show all running applications from all workspace to have control on them so the
gconf key show_all_windows is set to 1.
