[Bug 990765] Re: Save button always greyed out when creating openvpn connection

2013-07-12 Thread sml
The solution to this bug is to start:

nm-connection-editor

in the terminal. Terminal messages will tell you which entries the
connection considers invalid.

For example, when using certificates it is not possible to save the
connection without entering a password - if you want to be prompted for
a password each time, just enter a dummy password to allow you to save
the connection.

[Bug 924316] [NEW] x crashes on key press

2012-01-31 Thread sml
Public bug reported:

I have a Boxee Remote (wireless DLink keyboard) plugged into a machine
running Xubuntu 11.10.

Every time I press a key on the remote, it will crash the X server even
at the lightdm login screen.

However, X doesn't crash if I run XBMC and am using the remote within
that application. However, as soon as I exit XBMC fullscreen mode (even
if it is running windowed) and press a button on the remote, I get this
crash again.

I believe this crash is related to this bug (at least the backtraces are very
similar):

[Bug 896769] [NEW] Unable to pair bluetooth mouse (11.10 regression)

2011-11-26 Thread sml
Public bug reported:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -
About Ubuntu
$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 11.10

Release:11.10

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or
by checking in Software Center
$ apt-cache policy bluez
bluez:
  Installed: 4.96-0ubuntu4
  Candidate: 4.96-0ubuntu4
  Version table:
 *** 4.96-0ubuntu4 0

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 4.96-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/ubuntu/ubuntu/ oneiric/main
amd64 Packages

3) What you expected to happen
When I start pairing mode on my bluetooth mouse, Bluedevil pops up a
notification. When I click trust and authorise, the mouse should connect to
bluetoothd as it did in 11.04.

4) What happened instead
Instead an error appears in syslog:

27/11/11 11:25:42 hpebbluetoothd[1287]Refusing input device
connect: No such file or directory (2)
27/11/11 11:25:52 hpebbluetoothd[1287]Agent replied with an

Authorization canceled
27/11/11 11:30:09 hpebbluetoothd[1287]Refusing input device

Note that I also had this issue in Debian Sid/Wheezy, so it appears to be an
issue in bluez upstream:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=642104

Also the bug appears to have been encountered by at least one other person
using 11.10:

[Bug 785665] Re: libclang is not built

2011-05-26 Thread sml
Well my use case is this popular vim script 'clang complete', which provides
code completion in vim:
http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=3302

Using the library rather than the command-line tool apparently provides
much faster completion.

Is there a specific reason not to provide the library?

[Bug 764264] [NEW] plasma-widget-networkmanagement does not connect automatically

2011-04-18 Thread sml
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: plasma-widget-networkmanagement

I have NetworkManagement set to store connection secrets unencrypted (in
a file). Although my wireless connection is set to connect
automatically, it doesn't actually do this. After booting or resuming I
have to manually click the wireless network for it to connect. In
Maverick, the Connect Automatically feature worked great.

This bug is related to Launchpad Bug #760432, but I am creating a new
bug because that one is marked as Fix Released, and is indeed
partially fixed. I am running fully updated Kubuntu 11.04 (installed
beta 2).

Description:Ubuntu Natty (development branch)
Release:11.04

plasma-widget-networkmanagement:
  Installed: 0.9~svngit20110408-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 0.9~svngit20110408-0ubuntu2
  Version table:

500 http://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/ubuntu/ubuntu/ natty/main amd64
Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

What you expected to happen:
After selecting my connection to connect automatically, it should connect to
the wireless network without my intervention if it is available. This is how it
worked in 10.10.

What happened instead:
Although the network is visible, I have to manually click the entry in the
widget popup for it to connect.
